Re: Temperature overshoot issue

If this was supposed to do that, then how come it didn't do that before? I've not had this issue until around the time I upgraded to S3D 3.0 (just haven't got around to asking for help about it till now).

Temperature overshoot issue

Hi all, So this has been bugging me for awhile now - in S3D (I'm using v3.0.1) when I go to pre-heat my extruder on my M2 (now using v4 extruder, but this also repros on my other M2 w/3b extruder), it always overshoots the target temp by 5 degrees then has to cool back down. I assume it has to do wi...

Re: Hot End Temperature Rises Then Falls Rapidly <SOLVED>

So just to close this thread, my temperature issue went away by upgrading to the v4 extruder. Working perfectly again.

Re: Hot End Temperature Rises Then Falls Rapidly

Yikes...........yeah that's bad :(

For me, I've had my PC's freeze up on rare occasions (causing the printers to just remain on/heated) but nothing serious...I always leave my printers unattended (no way I can hang around for most prints).

Re: Hot End Temperature Rises Then Falls Rapidly

uh guys make sure you pay attention to this. I just lost a v4 (and nearly my printer) because I ignored those fluctuations. It was entirely my own neglect, not a fault of the hotend itself. Uhhhhmmmmm......in what way did you nearly lose the printer? All-metal design of the v4 saved it from...

Re: Hot End Temperature Rises Then Falls Rapidly

Yeah, I literally haven't been messing with *anything* on the printer as it has been working perfectly till last night - but it *has* been printing non-stop since January....

With that being the case, I may just start off by buying the Single V4 Extruder Upgrade and seeing if that fixes it....

Hot End Temperature Rises Then Falls Rapidly

Hi everyone, Just had my first issue with my M2 (been working great since Jan.). When I start pre-heating the bed and hotend, the temps on the hotend start dropping rapidly after reaching 170 or so. Obviously temps can't change this rapidly so it must be the temp sensor in the extruder assembly? (or...

Re: Starcraft race logo keychains!

I wasn't sure whether ending the print using the S3D and restarting at the layer where you left off would work or not...glad to hear it does. Steve has written up a way to preset a pause into your G-code that works really well - lets you stop the print, switch out the filament, and then resume with...

Re: Starcraft race logo keychains!

If you printed these one-by-one, there's an easier way: http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2729&p=16725 That's the technique I used for this: http://pingring.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_20150329_161609_nopm_.jpg Thanks for the heads up on that - my method was quite simple though ...

Re: Starcraft race logo keychains!

Neat! How did you do the filament switch? Was pretty easy - in S3D, I just checked the "Stop printing at height" option to the layer right before the logo starts printing (was something like 2.40mm). Then after it ran through my normal ending gcode, I kept the fans/heaters on, changed filament, the...
