Re: The State of the Gear

So.... any more info on the M4, and if/when the parts will be available to upgrade the M2 to the M3 dual?

Re: Has anyone changed their brass nut on the Z axis?

Thank you for your reply, Ed. I hadn't even considered removing the Z rods. I threaded the new brass Z nut onto the top portion of the lead screw (where the knob was) to see how far gone my original nut was, and to my surprise the new one has very similar radial and axial play when compared to the o...

Has anyone changed their brass nut on the Z axis?

Mind is worn out, so I ordered a new one, and now that I'm part way into the replacement, I've realized that the method I planned to use isnt going to work.

Does anyone have experience with doing this?

Re: The State of the Gear

I like the M4 a lot. Is there any intention to make it independent dual extruder as well? How difficult do you expect that it would be to fit up a titan and v6 on it, now that things are a bit tighter around the hot end? Things I like about it: -Dual Z steppers -more robust frame -electronics box on...

Re: The State of the Gear

I bought my Rev E dual unit close to a year ago. I wasn't happy with the dual setup, so that got removed, but I would love to see about upgrading to the new independent setup.

Rick, has Makergear ever considered a trade-in program for upgrading to newer units?

Re: The State of the Gear

I am definitely interested in upgrading to the new dual independent X drive setup. I have to think that's going to require electronics (since the Rambo only has 5 stepper drivers), plus the new top plate, extra extruder hardware.... That's going to be an expensive upgrade kit, really. That isn't my...

Re: The State of the Gear

Holy crap..

If tomorrow is a reveal of an enclosed machine with a larger build volume and dual semi-independent extruders I'm gonna shit myself.

Re: best carbon fiber filled filament

I've done some limited printing with 3DXtech's CF reinforced PETG. it prints fine, and has a neat "rough matte" finish, but it would really depend on what application your planning to use it for, as its quite brittle and as I said, prints have quite a rough surface texture.
