Re: DIY Laser

To keep Ed and others from being concerned that I will burn my eyes out I need to post a couple more pictures. But the Blue light lasers are very dangerous and notice the amber shielding that I have made and used around the machine. I do also have extra safety glasses ordered and coming tomorrow, th...

Re: DIY Laser

Thanks for the warning guys but I have been working on and around lasers for well over 2 years and I can still see! Maybe I did not mention this is only 5.5 watts and I have the approved goggles and now a amber color acrylic enclosure surrounding the machine. Would I let my 6 year old grandson near,...

Re: is printer market similar to 1910 radio market?

Needed something that would fit into a spare bedroom and keep my m...

Re: Need Help Getting Started

The LCD was purchased from MakerGear approximately 2 weeks ago, so I assume Geetech. However, the item came wrapped in foam without any documentation. It looks like the one in this link. http://www.makergear.com/products/lcd-screen Also, does anyone have the initial setup video listed in the How To...

Re: 3D Printed Marble Machine

No support and mine was printed, the blue anyway with PETG, the gray / silver is ABS. Sliced with S3D. My grandson loves it and I even showed him how to take apart and put back together so he can learn.

Is that a ThingVerse or similar download? Sometimes those 3D models are not completely printable.

Re: 3D Digitizing Services

One more post on the Matter and Form 3D Scanner. Its headed back to Amazon for a full refund. Perhaps I got a bad unit or maybe not, but in over a week of trying to get at least one useable scan and model I gave up. Lighting dim, bright, side, back and overhead and last to my Shop which has great li...

Re: 3D Digitizing Services

Well I purchased the Matter and Form scanner and its another learning curve. Nicely designed and the software is being updated on a regular basis. But, limitations as not too shiny, or reflective, or as I found to many open spaces in the object. Tried to do a toy metal tractor and it missed a Lot of...
