Re: How You Too Can Achieve Printing Nirvana

I reprinted my trickiest model in PLA on PEI using 60C bed / 200C HE - probably the best print I ever done ... Zero warping but walls with negative angles (cylinder touching the bottom) still deformed... Let see if PEI will hold PLA at lower temperature. With no HB walls are fine (on Zebra) but warp...

Re: How You Too Can Achieve Printing Nirvana

PEI seems good for everything I tried - ePC, PC+, ABS, PETG, PLA/+...I made the same mic6+pei sandwich For PLA I would rather not use it as PEI holds solid above 75C or so and PLA seems unstable at this temperature which results in warping and funny shapes for negative angle walls. I still need to g...

Re: software to make a hole in an object using 2d image

Thanks! got the idea. BTW there is a trace to openscad export plugin - convenient.
since my image was in MATLAB,i made in ML similar tracer and exporter like in inkscape + called openscad as command line to make STL - works fast and nice.

software to make a hole in an object using 2d image

Hi, i need to make a hole in an object (e.g. slab) according to 2D image. I tried using OpenScad surface command and it works fine but very slow for large image This is may be because surface uses image intensity as Z, while I do not need it at all ... This job will be repeated multiple time and I n...

Re: V4 clogged nozzle - where can I find spares?

I am playing with tungsten filled ABS and facing this problem daily ... at 0.35 printing is very stable but all attempts to go 0.25 finished with clogging (so many paramaters studied ...) for ABS I found acetone soaking overnight is sufficient to soften the plug enough to scarp some plastic and blow...

Re: New Filament Announcement from Polymaker

BTW is there a simple way to to 'unlock' temperatures above 275 on V4 ? This might allow to bring PCplus to 275 or so - who knows it may print better...

Re: New Filament Announcement from Polymaker

I was using 270 C on 85 C PEI for white, it printed fine with some warping, however when it came to stress it behaved worse than PLA so I reside on white eSun PETG for that project. So overall beside slightly higher melting temperature - no advantage to PETG plus warping, plus hotter bed etc ... Bla...

Re: New Filament Announcement from Polymaker

I am actually not too happy with PC-plus. Subjectively e-PC seems stronger, the layer bonding seems rather low, especially for white color. Black seems better. I do not have the transparent one.

highest resolution / nozzle diameter

what is the smallest nozzle diameter one can use ? I got very happy with 0.25 mm nozzle printing.
can one go lower than that ?

Jims, did you treat the metal surface somehow prior to applying the hairspray ?
