Re: Rev. E - starting height still too high after Quick Sta

From my mental re-play, there were two things I could think of: First was a PEBCAK + UI issue: With the initial rev of the quick start app, when presented with the "Save Starting Height" button, the "Next" button was enabled at the same time so I could basically skip saving the height. It wasn't cle...

Solder Fume Extractors

I've been eyeing this solder fume extractor on Thingiverse for quite some time.

It printed so nice, I printed it twice! :)

Re: Glass cracked during leveling

This looks like a question for MG. Looking at your picture and looking at my Rev. E, there would have been *no way* for me to put the aluminum plate on the spider like that out of the box. The allen screw is all the way up and wedged between the plate and the corner brace. Where did you buy it? Dire...

I ordered a replacement hot end last week or so and it is clearly marked:

Did you get the standard brass or did you request stainless steel?

Re: Editors Needed - Revised Beginner's Guide for the Rev.E

I read through it and nothing glaring jumped out at me. It is well-written and a definite "you gotta read this first...twice" document. I've had great success using your original guide's suggestions and forum links. The only question I haven't explored/experimented with is I still have my extruder t...

Great tip! I happen to have a digital scale in the kitchen. Time to re-purpose it :D

Thanks!

Re: S3D virtual machine does not match M2 Bed

This is probably a dumb question, but why do you even need the clips? Not at all a dumb question to me...I thought the same thing. But if you read the Rev. E manual, it only mentions them on page 5: REMOVE & READ THE WARNING SHEET from underneath your borosilicate glass bed by removing the binder c...

Estimating end-of-spool print capacity

As I approach the last few windings of my initial spool of PLA included with my M2, I'm trying to get a gut feeling on how much more I can print without running out mid-print. I found this thread from a few years ago estimating the length of a spool given its weight: http://forum.makergear.com/viewt...

Re: Cancelling a print and other typical beginner questions

I'm printing the hook as we speak and it works and I have a big smile on my face :D Fantastic! I'm so glad it's working for you! If you haven't already, I strongly recommend reading through Jules' post on getting started: http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2778 With the latest revisions...
