Re: Bottom and Perimeter Separation Problem

Could it be your STL file? I have printed items from customers that had errors in STL files which resulted in similar problems. When they built the files in their CAD programs, they did not click the "Merge Result" or equivalent button, and it left a part as two separate pieces, rather than an integ...

Re: NinjaFlex

I wrote earlier about "What sticks to Ninjaflex?" I can definitely now say ABS is one. Notice in the following pictures that you can build Ninjaflex on ABS, but you cannot build ABS on Ninjaflex; it warps away from the bond. I used a rectilinear fill on this one; I think the hex fill will actually b...

Nope. The idea would then be in the public domain, so nobody can patent it.

Re: How to Change the Toolhead Offsets in Simplify 3D

I think this is the right way, at least it works for me...
I had to adjust my X-position by -0.20mm and my Y-position by -0.10mm. Enter those values in the TOOL 1 offsets and check the "Apply toolhead offsets to G-Code coordinates".

Re: HIPS

It seemed to adhere well to PEI and itself, but also seems brittle. What are your applications for it? Do you use it for dissoluble support?

No, we just like BIG ones. That is what matters much more here.

HIPS

Does anyone have any recommendations on using HIPS? I have tried it with PETG and Polypropylene with very mixed results. As of right now, all I can think, is that I am putting it on too thick and jamming the other nozzle on my dual. I have been trying to reduce the extrusion, but have yet to find th...

Filament Buckling at Extruder Drive

I now had this happen several times. The first was while printing PETG, the last several were while printing Polypropylene. Something apparently jams the filament below the drive gear, and the filament buckles at the gear. I could not find any obvious jam or rough spot in the tube below the gear, so...

Re: Time for a new sheet of glass? Which thickness?

I was at a glass shop to get a window pane, so I asked about getting a piece of borosilicate glass as a backup. The owner was not familiar with borosilicate, but did have tempered glass on hand. After I did my online research, I decided against using tempered glass, and I would definitely NOT use re...
