Re: Why is the front (Y=0) of my bed consistently too high?

Are you Z-axis bearings tight? Any free-play if you rock the table front to back? Wondering if the weight-shifting of the platform moving could tilt the entire y-axis on the Z-slide. Does that make any sense?

Re: strange wires during prints

Are you using dense support layers? I like to have at least 3 layers of dense support on top of the sparse support so bridging on the first overhanging layer doesn't fall in between the support ribs. I run upper separation layers at 1. I wish I could go to .5 on parts with thicker layers.

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

For those who have used PLA for support material on PETG prints, can you use a ZERO gap between dense support and the PETG, and does that give a relatively clean underbelly to the PETG supported build? I don't have a dual extruder so I can't test.

Re: PEI Bed Surface

And for folks who are looking for a perfect piece of PEI, https://www.zoro.com/search?q=ULTEM they have lots of sizes and thicknesses, and if you have more than 1 printer, getting a bigger sheet is more cost effective. (of if you have a bigger printer than the M2, or other 12" bed sizes as other so...

Re: PEI Bed Surface

If you see it pulling up with the 3M 468 tape, then you didn't get a clean application in the first place. I have applied PEI to my 3 printers and a friend's printer as well, it is solid, nothing pulls it up. It's not lifting, the bond is sound and the application is clean - but there is still some...

Re: Extrusion calibration

I never really understood that theory... If the barrel is round, the nozzle is round(ish) and the block is machined correctly it really shouldn't matter which direction it's mounted. but hey if it fixes the problem... :D I didn't either, but I've experienced it, and sure enough, turning the block b...

Re: PEI Bed Surface

I run PEI on MIC6 1/4" aluminum. The aluminum spreads the heat around nicely. I'm thinking about gluing the PEI to the aluminum rather than using the sheet adhesive. Material that tend to warp will pull the PEI sheet along with it - not much - it doesn't break the bond of the adhesive - but I can se...

Re: Single V4 Extruder First Look.

The PID auto-tune sounds interesting. Mine is OE V4, but it does over-shoot and bounce around a bit on initial heat up. Might try the auto-tune just to see if it smooths it out a bit - not that it varies enough to be an issue, but just for fun. Haven't messed with a PID tuning for a long time.

Re: Things are too quiet.....eerily quiet.....

I have a lot of foam core board about. I'll cut out an 8x10 piece and see what kind of difference that makes - unless someone beats me to it.
