Re: Heated Build Platform is dead

Thanks for the tips. I pulled this back apart and measured resistances. I am getting about 1.0 Ohm through the heater when I wiggle the cord around, it doesn't seem to be indicating a problem. I'm measuring continuity through the wires out to the HBP connector from the connector that plugs into the ...

New 50 mm cooling fan has no modulation

I recently ordered and received a new part cooling fan (50mm) from Makergear. I have an older 12V/19V machine and I received a fan with a 12V label, as I requested. However, when I try to use the fan, I get zero fan speed until I'm above a command of about 250, then I get full fan speed. I must be m...

Heated Build Platform is dead

I went out to run a print this morning and my HBP wont warm up at all. I used S3D to command the bed to 100C, then did the following: I unplugged the harness at the bed and measured the voltage with a meter and got 1.8 Volts. I checked my supply voltages into the control box and they were 12V and 19...

Re: The WAVES are back!?!

Have you checked the actual diameter of your nozzle? I had the end of mine "blow out" and end up being about 1.5 mm instead of 0.35 and it did a bunch of crazy things. I spent hours and hours messing with settings and filaments. Also, check the printed plastic bracket that holds your extruder to the...

Re: Tuning Hot End PID

I've tried to run the autotune, but it always fails I believe because the initial overshoot is so great it stops the procedure. I sent in a request for help to MakerGear and got the following response: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Heated Bed Woes

For what its worth, I have problems with mine as well. I have found that moving the bed around manually causes the temp to come up. I think there is a problem somewhere with the temp measurement on mine. During printing, the temp drops to zero then instantly jumps back to the setpoint temp. During w...

Re: Favorite way to prep your bed surface for printing ABS?

The trick to putting on the Kapton tape is to use Windex on the glass. Buy original, plain, non-scented Windex and spray it on the glass liberally. Put the strip of tape on and use a credit card to push the Windex out from under the Kapton once you get it in place. There should be enough Windex on t...

Re: Tuning Hot End PID

I'm looking in the firmware files downloaded from here: http://makergear.wikidot.com/m2-firmware#toc0 I don't see either of these parameters in any of the files associated with that firmware. All I have is the PID_MAX. I may need to send this discussion into support for guidance on what to do next. ...

Re: M2 bed warm up time to 110C for ABS

When you watch the bed temp on the chart in Creator, does it do anything unusual? For instance does it warm up for a while then suddenly drop?

Re: Tuning Hot End PID

Thanks for the tip. A strategy like this makes sense as a simple way to manage error accumulation during the initial heat up. I downloaded the marlin firmware files and have been looking through the config and advanced config files, however I don't see a parameter there like what you are describing....
