Re: distortion
The problem happens at the same place evey time Remember that the G-Code is always the same, so the motions will be the same and a mechanical problem will happen at the same place every time. If you printed this exact G-Code file before you paused for a few months, then didn't change the file, it's...

Now that is a practical application of 3D printing if I ever saw one... [grin]

Re: distortion
only applies to the X axis having a shift Assuming that you're using the same G-Code file and not reslicing with new-and-different settings, then it's almost certainly a mechanical problem brought on by long storage. Things to check: X axis linear slide lubricated (do 'em all while you're at it) X ...

Re: Anyone try this new calibration piece?
That's probably a good test piece after you have the printer reasonably well set up, but it looks like a disaster for from-scratch calibration: the inevitable faceplant failure in any one section would mess up all the other shapes around it.dklassen wrote:11 different measurement points on that piece

Re: Problems with 0.5mm extruder nozzle
I have not seen any significant changes to my "estimated" print times. A 0.50 mm nozzle can extrude twice the plastic per millimeter of filament motion as a 0.35 mm nozzle. However, changing the thread width from 0.35 mm to 0.50 mm increases the cross-section area by only 40%, so the slicer can't t...

Re: M2 Extruder Motor Jumping
stops being extruded after the first 10-20 layers Does the extrusion temperature remain constant during that time? If it drops, then the hot end will cool off, the plastic will solidify, and the motor will stall; depending on the size of the model, that can take a surprisingly long time. Look near ...

Re: 2nd day with the M2 and having issues, Help appreciated!
the filament will not lay down for the first 2 perimeter layers OK, that's a glaring clue: bad first-layer adhesion ruins everything above it. No point in trying anything else until you solve that problem. In your first post, you mention you're printing on bare glass. If you're still doing that, st...

printing via SD so the USB stalling shouldn't be an issue That seems to be the general solution for Windows, although I've never seen a problem printing through USB from an assortment of PCs with several Ubuntu versions. Print-from-card also raises issues with PC power management that, IMO, are bes...

Re: Ninjaflex print very stringy & holes in the models. Why?
but I thought I wanted flow increased, not decreased? Or am I getting bitten again by the "Extrusion Multiplier is not what you think it is" issue...? The Extrusion Multiplier has exactly one function: tweaking the volume of plastic that comes out of the extruder to match what the slicer expects, s...
