Re: Cersei Lannister Necklace

For prop work like you do, I'd definitely recommend Rhino. It's not the only program you'll ever need but if we're talking about the software that covers the MOST bases, it is probably this one. I found your facebook page recently as well. Very impressive work up there! (Shameless plug: I too run a...

Re: esun petg

I did get a few of the applicator bottles and tried to use it like that, but the pieces I was trying to glue were not both completely flat. Actually one surface was printed flat on the bed and the other was printed over support. When I used the glue straight from the bottle it didn't have enough con...

Re: esun petg

About gluing PETG, I picked up some WeldOn 4 (because of Jimc's advice) but I didn't really like how thin it was. I wanted it to take up more space. I dissolved some PETG scraps with the solvent in a glass jar and got a jam like consistency. It seems to work really well so far. It has lumps in it jus...

Re: esun petg

I looked at it when you posted and just didnt reply because i wasnt sure if it was supposed to look like that or you were being sarcastic and it was a big blob mess. Lol. You really cant tell from the pic. Haha it does look like a blob. I guess the photo was just to show the size. It spanned almost...

I printed it with support, like I said it came out really well, nothing to be fixed.

I don't know what you meant by that.

It's a portion of a low-poly sabre-tootheded tiger's skull.

Re: esun petg

My first big print with the black!
Roughly 70mm/sec
.88 extrusion multiplier
bed at 90°C with Garnier Fructis Extreme hairspray
Extruder at 250°C
20% infill
140% infill extrusion width
Ran for about 11 hours.
Came out great, with zero warp.

Re: Cersei Lannister Necklace

Rhino and Solidworks are two completely different animals. Rhino acts more like a traditional quad-modeler, heavy on the NURBS. Solidworks is all construction plane driven - very rigid and orderly but incredibly easy to make changes to your earliest build parts. If you're building Cersei's necklace...

How is your M2 mounted?

I'm wondering about vibration from the machine that transfers into the table. Just curious how you guys have yours set up.

My table is screwed into the wall with small braces that I made and I have a heavy amplifier on the table as well. The table is on carpet in a second floor room.

Thank you!

No, I have no experience with Rhino. I've only heard that it's very similar to Solidworks.
