Re: S3D virtual machine does not match M2 Bed
This is probably a dumb question, but why do you even need the clips? Not at all a dumb question to me...I thought the same thing. But if you read the Rev. E manual, it only mentions them on page 5: REMOVE & READ THE WARNING SHEET from underneath your borosilicate glass bed by removing the binder c...

Estimating end-of-spool print capacity
As I approach the last few windings of my initial spool of PLA included with my M2, I'm trying to get a gut feeling on how much more I can print without running out mid-print. I found this thread from a few years ago estimating the length of a spool given its weight: http://forum.makergear.com/viewt...

Re: Cancelling a print and other typical beginner questions
I'm printing the hook as we speak and it works and I have a big smile on my face :D Fantastic! I'm so glad it's working for you! If you haven't already, I strongly recommend reading through Jules' post on getting started: http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2778 With the latest revisions...

Re: Cancelling a print and other typical beginner questions
Q: Is the getting started software THE only software to print everything i wanna print? or is there another software I should use to control my machine, that i don t know of? (I'm sure one of the resident user experts for Slic3r will chime in when they see your post.) I'm certainly not an expert bu...

Re: New to 3D printing
- Is the new M2 models have some sort of auto leveling for the tray? or stilla DIY deal? It's still a DIY deal with a combination between software and the 4 set screws on the spider. If you haven't already seen it, watch the new "Quick Start App Tutorial" video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rhU...

Thermal time-lapse video of M2 bed heating up
Just for fun, I recorded a thermal video of the HBP heating up and created a 30 second time-lapse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVG_VjhfTRI Blurb from YouTube: Recorded with a FLIR ONE (the flashes/blips are the FLIR recalibrating itself). I didn't tweak any emissivity settings so the indicated t...

Getting started video posted for Rev. E
A new getting started video was recently posted on YouTube covering the new Quick Start App for Rev. E: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rhUBXfaU44 Ironically I received my Rev. E on the same day and had some questions that this video answered :D Specifically, at about 03:43 when presented with the ...

Re: Rev. E - starting height still too high after Quick Sta
Did you slice the bracelet ? Might not be sitting on the bed before slicing ? I used the pre-sliced gcode that was provided on the SD card. The new Rev. E "Quick Start App" has its own procedure to level the bed, set the starting height, verify heaters & fans, and print a first test. It's fine now....

Re: Rev. E - starting height still too high after Quick Sta
I did indeed go through it several times in anticipation of my delivery today. Some of that thread is outdated with the Rev. E...especially the Z-stop setting. The Z-Stop microswitch on the latest models is on the *bottom* of the printer so the calibration is reversed. There is no end-stop bolt on t...

Rev. E - starting height still too high after Quick Start
Hi All, My M2 Rev. E just arrived today and I've been working with the new "Quick Start" app. I've run through about 4-5 iterations and everything seems to be bang-on using a 0.15mm feeler gauge in lieu of the included blue strip. However, when I print the bracelet.g file on the SD card as instructe...
