Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Installed the PEI sheet on my boro glass bed; spectacular results! Printed the ubiquitous "tree frog" Colorfabb XT (PETG) without a brim and I could not remove from the print bed until it cooled to room temperature. I plan to print Taulman Alloy 910 (nylon derivative) in the next week or so and Colo...

Thanks for the feedback Jules/jimc. PEI and adhesive ordered. Will touch up the plate with spray until it arrives.

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Printed a second part in an area of the bed that was not used in my first print without cleaning and recoating with hairspray. Poor adhesion in the second location. Is this to be expected? I would hoping I could coat the glass and the print multiple times until all "fresh" zones were used, then clea...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

A helping note about alcohol wiping: The stuff (wax, oils) you are trying to remove is invisible, so you can't tell if it's clean. To deal with this, get 4 unused paper towels, and put alcohol on one and wipe the bed, then repeat with the remaining towels. They will all look "clean", but the last o...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Thanks for the feedback guys; headed to the Rite Aide ;) Corlorfabb website suggests the glue stick and several other sites that address PETG suggest PVA slurry and a bed material. I can now say that it does not stick to the PETG material. The glue stays on the glass, the filament does not stick to ...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Printing with Colorfabb XT (purple). Very good printing characteristics but have a difficult time getting it to adhere to the bed when I print parts like the M2 extruder servo mount. The part separates from the bed at about 15-20 mm of build height. I have tried the following bed configuration, all ...

Re: Colorfabb XT Purple

Added my bed fan back to system, 100% after layer 3... great results 8-). I had removed the fan because I was printing ABS exclusively. I think I am going to like PETG.

Colorfabb XT Purple

I decided to take the plunge and abandon ABS for materials with lower shrinkage, improved strength and low odor. PETG seemed like a good choice based on feedback on the boards and other research. In researching the PETG options, I was impressed with Eastman's reputation and their Amphora materials l...

Re: How You Too Can Achieve Printing Nirvana

Having read through this thread I have a few questions. As I understand it, the MIC6 aluminum plate replaces the borosilicate glass plate, correct? The MIC6 plate should then be covered with PET material (tape, sheet, other). Once so configured you print directly on the PET surface or you can use an...
