Re: Best bed and quality spool for ABS?

A key point is designing parts that do not promote edge lifting. A rounded corner vs. sharp one will make a big difference. You may also want to integrate “corner buttons” which are a one layer circle intersecting troublesome corners. It makes a big difference in adhesion and they are very easy to r...

Re: M2 nightmare with soft filiment

You may just need some tweaking. I have not printed with EPA, but try using Ninjaflex settings. I did see there is a flexible filament thread at the top of the filament subforum today that may help. -Tension needs to be snug on the drive bearing for good grip. -Retraction should be 0. -Speeds at abo...

Re: M2 octoprint on Pi what to buy

As mentioned you can do both monitoring and running with Octoprint. To clarify my situation, I have an M2 with a dedicated computer that I run off a KVM switch. It just needs a watcher, so I use MotionEyeOS. I have an MPCNC that runs solo on Octoprint for 3D printing and laser engraving. I also have...

Re: M2 octoprint on Pi what to buy

One of those starter kits off Amazon is fine along with the Raspi cam. My Pi and printers are connected to each other through an ethernet or wireless hub. I think mine are all Canakit Raspi kits, which I got from Amazon. I have three Raspi. Two use MotioneyeOS as print monitor cams and one uses Octo...

Re: Post production media blasting

I haven’t tried it, but I do have an abrasive blast cabinet. It uses sand, not plastic though. I wonder what will happen. I suspect it will shred the print, but will try it on something. In the meantime, you may want to try this. It works very well. https://www.smooth-on.com/product-line/xtc-3d/

Re: crackes

It looks like you are having a problem jumping over a space in the printed item. It is possible that an area of your print has a corner that is lifting up and it is bumping your print head. Is the trouble spot a thin wall or have sharp edges? This can cause bumping. If you are using Simplify3D, then...

Re: Forum Upgrade

Hah, did not even notice that. That is it!

I am an admin on a phpBB forum as well, but it runs underneath a software package provided by the hosting service. I went to go check there, but we don’t have that drop down available to us.

Re: Forum Upgrade

Josh, can you please re-enable “Read new posts” and “Read unanswered posts”.

I do not have time to search every subforum in this forum for new posts and count on those features to find out what is going on and who has been left behind quickly.

Thanks

Re: crackes

You might want to put up a picture. That would help.

Slow down your speed and give the nozzle temp. a bump up.

If the item is large then you may want to try thicker layers and more perimeters.

Hard to know without seeing it.
