Rhino and SOLIDWORKS users.
Has anyone started modeling on rhino , and then moved to SOLIDWORKS ? I was wondering what other users thought about the switch ? I am just getting my feet wet with SOLIDWORKS but so far it seems to be more feature rich and powerful. However I am more used to the older mechanical engineering style d...

Re: EAA offers solidworks to its members
EAA has a special running on memberships right now 26 dollars . I installed the SOLIDWORKS student edition for that price and as far as I can tell it does not look to be crippled. One screen said liscence good till 2025....Another said 2018. Good deal either way.

Re: Virtual reality.
Yes I got my vive !!! I will say it was well worth the money !!! And I definitely would buy it again. One word of caution if you do the vive or the occulus. The base stations, satellites, lighthouses are very fragile handle with extreme care. I had one fail and have had to send in for repair. Awaiting...

Re: Why is the front (Y=0) of my bed consistently too high?
Have you actually checked your mic6 plate to make sure it is flat ? I have a machine shop at my disposal that checks all mine with a dial gauge comparator. Maybe your plate is not as flat as it is supposed to be ?

Re: Stops at random points in the middle of the print
It must be a personal preference thing. I never liked printing from s3d and as soon as I tried octoprint I found it much easier faster and better suited for my needs/taste . To each his own I guess !

Re: Why is the front (Y=0) of my bed consistently too high?
Not sure about mesh leveling as I have never tried that. But with standard leveling I was probing six spots on the bed. Could it be an issue with the mesh leveling ? Or not enough probe points. I would think with a mic6 plate and a correctly leveled bed you would not even need mesh leveling. Or at l...

Re: Stops at random points in the middle of the print
The pi3 being 35 dollars with built in wifi is a no brainer. Most tech people have a spare sd card and or web cam laying around. It can be setup on your existing monitor and keyboard mouse combo and then ran totally through the browser on a network. All in all it is much easier than any other option...
