Re: New Extruder Drive Gear
MakerGear clearly understands its client base - send out something with no instructions whatsoever and let them figure it out.

Re: New Extruder Drive Gear
Apparently my drive gear (or two since I've got a dual) is out for delivery today. I want to make sure I understand how to use this - do I need a new extruder body for this or not? I saw mention it's shorter so I wasn't sure. Is there a new extruder body model for the dual around someplace? Even bet...

Re: Testers Needed
I'd also like a standalone z-height program, but my wish would be for it to be written in something like Python for Linux so there would be no issue running it on a Raspberry Pi. The current new setup program is written in something else and distributed in binary form so it's not portable.

I've been under the assumption that sooner or later someone would add just the Z adjustment piece elsewhere, maybe Octoprint (which I use) or S3D. Maybe even a portable command line utility.

Re: Testers Needed
Don't really want to be too critical, but it would really help out in situations like this for Makergear staff to notify testers that the thing that was tested actually did start shipping so we know it's no longer something we can't photograph or talk about too much.

Re: Testers Needed
Glad I asked, just tried the new Windows version. It came out quite small on my 1080P 14" Thinkpad, but almost full screen and beautiful on my higher resolution Surface Pro 4.

Re: Testers Needed
I've been using my new leveling and Z-max stop happily for a while, but there is no activity in this thread - is this moving on to production? Any changes in the software? I hope this wasn't a dead end.

Re: Talented maker creates multi-colored '3D printed aviary'
I would think that anyone doing single extruder multi-color printing would really LOVE the new experimental Z-Max bed leveling setup. You could then approach the additional layer print job with a home reference, but without ever bringing the bed close to the X gantry, just go from bed at the bottom ...
