Re: Noob getting started questions

Go to the Machine Control Panel (Ctrl P) and then click on the Jog Controls Tab does clicking the Home Z button at the bottom bring the platform all the way to the top?

Re: Z-height of single layer wide box too high ... how to fi

On an off note... Can you adjust the Z height in S3D while it's printing with the jog controls? (Kind of like what they are doing with the onscreen buttons in this video.) I currently just pop the K knob to accomplish this and wonder if the jog controls would be more precise if they worked that way....

Re: anyone using all metal Micron extruder + hotend?

After going through a couple of the printed mounts I've been looking at this too lately. After installing the V4 last night I'm thinking this would be pretty easy to make work with it too. I might have to be the forum guinea pig and order one of the extruders anyway.

Re: Is it possible to control Z Height on rapid moves?

I think what your looking for is Retraction Vertical Lift Under the Extruder Tab

While written for older versions of S3D a lot of stuff still applies check out http://jinschoi.github.io/simplify3d-docs/

Re: Single V4 Extruder Fisrt Look.

one thing i wonder about is why is there still a 40mm fan blowing on the filament drive. I was going to ask that same question... with the separation between the hot end and the filament drive now I would think it was pretty pointless myself. I would love to get rid of it, I'm on my third one those...

V4-006.jpg V4-007.jpg The Hot End Assembly was then mounted to the Mounting Plate. V4-008.jpg Next the Filament Drive Assembly is installed to the Motor. V4-009.jpg A little rearranging of the fan screws was next. I use a different lower fan bracket so my setup is a little different than the stock ...

Single V4 Extruder First Look.

V4-001.jpg This is a first Look at the Single V4 Extruder. As with the printer everything comes nicely packaged in zip lock bags. While the instructions are pretty straight forward some of the pictures are a little dark and hard to see so here is a quick run down with some more pictures of my insta...

Re: v4 Status

I got mine too but my S3D decided to stop working after I reset the settings and even a reinstall won't help so now I can't even play with my V4.

Welcome to the frustrating side of 3D printing.
