Re: About Simplify 3D version 4.0 and M2 Rev. E
It’s fine. Not much else to say. It was not a life changing upgrade or anything like that.

Re: Extending wire harness life - wire wrap
My printer has an incredibly simple strain relief for the extruder head wiring. I tied a loose loop of flexible filament (used old Esun flex filament, harder than Ninjaflex and softer than Semiflex) over the cable bundle and anchored it to the shelf about a foot above it. The loop is situated on the...

Re: Brims vs Rafts?
esun PLA+ is totally fine with 50°C bed, been using it that way for a long time on my M2 it is also totally fine without a heated bed at all printed with a turnigy mini fabrikator. Gwhite, knocking down the bed temp a few degrees at the time hoping that you will hit the magic temp that will work is ...

Re: Brims vs Rafts?
A brim will help and is easy to remove. It is a good solution for keeping things in place that have a lot of contact area with the bed, such as a box shape. 3-5 perimeter brim rings will solve most warping issues. Another solution that works well is to add a dime sized feature that is centered at th...

Re: 6" adjustable vent
Sounds like you got it under control! I was just excited about the novelty of bottle cap behavior in a duct, which says a lot for the quality of entertainment where I live.

Re: 6" adjustable vent
Just a comment that may or may not apply depending on how I interpreted your first post. You say that you are looking to slow down the speed of the caps "at different points" by introducing venting. This says to me you are expecting to be able to increase the speed at some point after the vent. This...

Re: difficulty passing through hot end
Also, when you are feeding/priming using the jog console only move 1mm at a time, 10mm at a time will cause a mess. It's too fast.

Re: The State of the Gear
Wireless good. Bigger printer good. New model number good. Dual extruder on regular machine? meh. Dual extruder on large machine? better. Minimizing air friction? #lolwut :D Looks like it's all good for new folks. Shiny new features are nice, but the actual prints will be the same high quality, best...

Re: best carbon fiber filled filament
Welcome to the hype that is carbon-filled filament. There is nothing stupider, except politics. I spent years molding airplane parts from fiberglass, carbon, fiber, and Kevlar. The delusion that chopping up fiber into dust and sprinkling it into filament makes it stronger is insanity, but folks buy ...
