Re: Extrusion Multiplier and Extrusion Width

On the thought that the slicer was behaving badly, I modelled a part with a wall that was two passes thick (0.86 mm to leave some room for tolerance). I printed the part with the auto extrusion width set and an extrusion multiplier of 0.9, and low and behold I got a nearly perfect part. I cut it up ...

Re: Extrusion Multiplier and Extrusion Width

Here's the files.

I did model the thin wall. Now that you mention it, I can imagine why you wouldn't want to do it the way I did it.

Re: Extrusion Multiplier and Extrusion Width

that's what's odd about it. I measured the roll when I received it. If anything, it seems to be a bit undersized. I reran the parts and got similar results. I didn't bother cutting them up and using the mic. I just checked it quick and dirty with calipers. The inconsistency in the parts (4 walls of ...

Extrusion Multiplier and Extrusion Width

I've been fiddling with calibrating my machine again (new roll of material from a new supplier). I had read some discussion of folks printing an object that had a single extrusion width thick wall and measuring it. It sounded interesting, so I thought I'd give it a try. I attached my factory file (I...

Re: S3D V2.2, default M2 settings

For the record, I had just updated to V2.2.0. I see V2.2.1 available. I did the help, reset all, and I get the same thing. It runs me through the configuration wizard, I pick the MakerGear M2 (hotend V3a), and it defaults to manual extrusion width of 0.35 mm and an extrusion multiplier of 1.10. It s...

S3D V2.2, default M2 settings

I recently updated to S3D V2.2, and for grins I took a look at the latest "default" M2 settings for ABS. It seems like the default settings have really digressed. The biggest issue I noticed was that the Extrusion Width is defaulting to "Manual" and the Extrusion Multiplier is 1.10. I haven't kept a...

Re: Best Fit - 3D Modeling Software

I highly recommend what used to be Alibre Design, now GeoMagic Design. It is a fully parametric solid modelling program with fully associative 2D drafting. I've been using it since version 6 (perhaps 10 years now). It has gotten quite good. I don't know what the current pricing is, but they were doi...

Re: Heated Build Platform is dead

I received my new 2 pin connector for the 12 Volt supply. I put it on in place of the melted connector and plugged it back into the machine. I did a couple of other things to try to make this less likely to happen again: 1) I used conductive silver epoxy to essentially glue the wires into place insi...

Re: Heated Build Platform is dead

I've done a little searching, but am not having much luck finding a part number of what to order to replace the damaged connector. I found this discussion in the old google group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/makergear/lgtdY8L3D7E Does anyone have a part number handy? I saw a similar disc...

Re: Heated Build Platform is dead

Yep, I unplugged the power supplies from the back of the Rambo and sure enough one of the connectors for the 12V supply is melted.

When I checked the voltages with a meter, I left them plugged in and just measured by touching the exposed screws on the terminal.

Thank you guys!
