Re: world maker faire NY who is goin...

On other printers, I've seen no ooze at all from a 2mm retract with ABS. It is possible but requires a few things: 1) A very short hot zone. The printer in question used a Hexagon hotend, which has a relatively small hot area. 2) A very good thermal break with active cooling. Same Hexagon, uses a te...

Woah don't do that. You'll bake contaminants in.

Get a roll of Taulman 618 and do a few cold-pulls with it. It cleans nozzles really, really well.

Re: So, what do we think about dual extrusion after a month?

For what it's worth, my dual-struder Ultimaker calls for some insane retraction when tool switching. They do 17mm retracts (on a bowden). When I get mine set up, I'm going to try tuning for 12-14mm retracts between tool changes, plus the wiper.

Working the dual upgrade in with my old frankenprinter?

I've got one of the really old M2's ... back from the RAMBO 1.0 days and dual-PSUs. I've since upgraded to RAMBO 1.3 and 24v (before the official kit came out) but the rest of my machine has remained stock save a Viki I got from the MakerGear store. The problem I have comes from the E0 motor. The in...
