Re: Fastbot BBP

I downloaded what I think is a snapshot of their source code for the firmware on 3/21/2015. Backers should have access to the firmware at some point in time. I can upload the file I have if anyone is interested.

Re: M2 Makeover

In the "old days" we did this type of thing by placing an AM radio near the CPU of a computer. Amazing what tunes you can play. More amazing than that was that you could tell if your program was running normally by the sounds it would make on the radio. Certainly not as good as a debugger, but you c...

Re: A Good All Around 3D Scanner

Took a look at the NextEngine scanner. Impressive. http://www.nextengine.com/ From their comparison of scanner capabilities if I were to consider a scanner it would have to be the NextEngine. However, at $3000 you really would have to scan a lot to make it worthwhile. Maybe a service business opport...

Re: Oh For Heaven's Sake!

I wonder if there are enough S3D users here to get S3D to implement an option in S3D to use the checksum feature?

Re: Amazon 3D Printer Store thumbnail

Amazon tracks your visits to their web site and they use that information to present targeted ads to you. Sometimes that's good and sometimes it's bad. They have suggested things to me based on other things I have purchased and I actually bought one of them. Didn't know it was available and I would ...

Re: Oh For Heaven's Sake!

I checked with the Simplify3D folks, here's what they had to say: Thanks for contacting Simplify3D, I will be happy to help answer your question. In regards to the communication between Simplify3D Software and the printer, there is no checksum in our protocol, and we use the standard RepRap style co...

Re: M2 Auto-Leveling

With that said though i think this is great especially since the glass isnt usually perfectly flat so this usually makes up for that. Yes, if it's going to work that way. I have, let's say "another brand printer", that uses software leveling. It's really nice. Downside to that printer is that you a...

Re: M2 Auto-Leveling

Well, it's a marketing issue as well. Since many machines claim to have it, it becomes a feature that can eliminate the machine that doesn't have it, regardless of the value of the feature.

Re: Oh For Heaven's Sake!

Suppose one of those imponderable USB glitches that seem to plague Windows happens at exactly the right moment. As far as Marlin can tell, the host sent: Code: Select all M303 Y-4.901 F15000.000 Whereupon the firmware sees the M303 command (plus some irrelevant junk), does exactly what it's been to...
