PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?
Hey, Everybody. After experiencing some brittleness problems associated with PLA, I've been attempting to dial in Simplify3D settings for PLA to print an object which includes a 0.06" x 0.5" x 6" strap protruding from the center of a block. Approximately 0.25" of support material are generated below...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament
theboz1419, Thanks for your suggestion that my gap might be too large. I can’t seem to figure out how to reduce gap (which I assume you mean the gap between the perimeter shell layers and between infill and the shell) using S3D settings. What S3D parameters affect this? Before receiving your reply I...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament
Strap - Initial Settings.JPG Hi! I'm new to 3D printing. I'm using an M3 in conjunction with Simplify3D. When I approached S3D Tech Support for help with a printed strap (about 1/16" x 6" x 1/2") breaking, they suggested I try PETG as a more flexible alternative to PLA. Imagine how happy I was to f...

Re: Installing Pronterface on a Windows 10 PC
Thanks, Insta! You and Jason at MakerGear simultaneously educated me about the fact that I can't have S3D open and expect Pronterface to connect to our M2e. I closed S3D and Pronterface CONNECTED!! It's probably not the most recent version of Pronterface (I'd been advised that installing the latest ...

Re: Installing Pronterface on a Windows 10 PC
You're not running any other slicing software at the same time, are you? Yes. I keep Simplify3D open at all times because if it's closed I can't log back in until I've secured special authorization from the IA folks at work to take the laptop home, connect it up to my Wi-Fi network, and log back in...

Re: Installing Pronterface on a Windows 10 PC
Hi, Insta. When you installed Pronterface on your Windows 10 PC, did it communicate successfully with a 3D printer? I sincerely appreciate the http://kliment.kapsi.fi/printrun/ link, but it looked familiar because it was the first approach I'd tried. I made a second attempt which yielded the same I ...

Re: Installing Pronterface on a Windows 10 PC
Thanks, Insta! That link looks familiar. I'll try it out.
I was under the impression that installing from source was the only way to get the most recent version.

Installing Pronterface on a Windows 10 PC
Hi. Pronterface Printrun is suggested as a printer controller app in MakerGear's M2e User Guide. I'm having trouble installing this on a Windows 10 laptop using the instructions provided under the "Running From Source" > "Windows" section in https://github.com/kliment/Printrun/blob/master/README.md....

Pronterface Installation Problem
Hi. I've been attempting to install the most recent version of Pronterface Printrun on a Windows 10 PC using the five steps listed in the "Windows" section at https://github.com/kliment/Printrun. Step #5 directs the user to download/install "http:/pyglet.googlecode.com/files/pyglet-1.1.4.zip" Q1: At...

Re: /trouble Installing Printrun
Okay, so I went to https://github.com/kliment/Printrun and followed the directions for downloading and installing the first four of five files listed under the Windows requirement. Granted... I've absolutely no idea what I'm doing here other than attempting to follow github's directions for installi...
