Re: get RAMBo boardc repaired
Noise is not a problem for me. i've got other projects in the queue and unfortunately the printer is on the critical path. Mosrt of the trouble I had with it in the years I've been using it was with the taped beds. I bought a WhamBam magnetic print surface and it has been the end of my problems. I p...

get RAMBo boardc repaired
My guess is no-one repairs boards, but just in case. I have one on which the USB connector has deconstructed. Since I have a couple of other boards which I tbhought might be harvested of their USB Jacks, I fired up the Weller WTCP with an 800F tip, got out the braid and went to work. My guess is sol...

Re: Slice Engineering Copperhead hot end 450C
I never did install it. the splice guys said to buy a new thermo sensor for it because the one they suggested would fit better. I found MakerGear's heater louse. Splice guys told me that the past would fix this. It could be that there is a problem with thermal expansion of the heater which the paste...

Re: Alternative to Simplify3D Machine Control Panel?
Gwhite, do you have some reason other than concern that Simplify3D may go away? It's what I use for my M2, but I still use Cura for theTinyBoy. I really like Simplify3D though. for slicing, but then Octoprint for running the machine which I leave setup at the shop and then when I need to print and a...

Re: Flexible Magnetic Build Surface for the M2/M3
Hi Sprior, You're a better craftsman than I. I've switched to Peter's wonderful FLEX with PEX and print only PETG. This has changed my entire experience with printing - removed the "twitch" When I got started with the flexible sheets, I did gouge up a PEX sheet - bed temperature too high - couldn't ...

Re: make shrink-on sleeve
Hi Phil, this may be laughable but the guy I knew who had a Mac-10, had the coke bottle adapter. I thought the concept was nuts, especially when he told me that the bottle would be one of the plastic ones and full of water. the first shot of a short burst would blow up the bottle and not much else a...

Re: make shrink-on sleeve
A live round might have generated a photo which would have been hard to analyze - in the event of an aiming anomaly
Did you ever try the plastic coke-bottle silencer scheme which was "available" for IIRC the MAC 10 ?

my cohort (not including me) would have been 1960-70 including grad school. One of them was very fond of Edgerton and had worked(?) in his lab - the wet one.

Re: make shrink-on sleeve
Wow ASA6. i think Kodachrome used to be ASA10 in the '50s when I started photography. We were delighted when it went to ASA25. re fast cameras: My Dad worked for a company which made, among other things, high-voltage fuses for the Utilities. in late '50s GE published a paper which suggested that fus...
