Re: Modified Ikea enclosure
Yeah you might be right. I have a row of 12mm holes along the top for exit (the fan intake is down the bottom, blowing directly over the RAMBO/PSU). But calculating the sizes, there is only about 1/6th as much exit as there is intake. I think I probably always knew that would be an issue, but wanted...

Re: Modified Ikea enclosure
To those who have posted their temp-controlled fan setups, how are you finding them working. I upgraded from a 90 -> 120mm fan, but with the controller set at 31C (87F) after about 2 hours into a print (with a 70C bed heater) the fan just can't keep up, the fan is locked on, and temp started slowly ...

Re: v4 Status
Something in software (or firmware) has to have changed somewhere. Its the same extruder motor, so regardless of nozzle size or hotend temperatures or anything, if you left all software (and the motor) identical - exactly the same amount of plastic is going to come out the nozzle before and after th...

Re: M2 Auto-Leveling
If it can do auto-z-height for me, I'm super excited. Bed leveling I find pretty easy, and kinda fun TBH. Adjusting a few screws once a month or so, and its easy to tell if its right or wrong as you do it, just by looking at it. I like the satisfaction of knowing I have razor accurate bed flatness. ...

Re: Any suggestions on how to avoid this?
I'm guessing an overhang, printed in PLA, with the overhang pointed toward the back of the printer, so isn't getting sufficient cooling from the bed fan. Try rotating the model 180 when printing it. More general question for everyone: Are there any better more general solutions to this problem ? It ...

Re: thread-locking insert for Z-stop screw
This wouldn't require any re-drilling or tapping (or printing): http://www.mcmaster.com/#98014a603/=w701kh and http://www.mcmaster.com/#90368a200/=w7023f If you wanted to go overboard, they have some 1/4-80 super fine pitch thumb screws there somewhere too. Problem there is that buying the tap for i...

Re: thread-locking insert for Z-stop screw
Thread pitch on a M4 is much finer than a 1/2-20. 1 full turn on a 1/2-20 is 1.27mm change in z-stop height. M4 is 0.7 or 0.5mm (I don't recall if they are course of fine pitch). So you'll have to be rotating the new bolt half as far to get the same amount of adjustment. The bigger head might help s...

Re: Problems with 0.5mm extruder nozzle
Also, remember there is a default setting that says don't print any layer faster than 15s or so (On the cooling tab). So for small parts S3D is going to slow down the movement to keep total time over 15anyways. Doubling the layer height should always half the print time though, and is doing so will ...
