Maybe the people saying this meant that users can print on the bare glass directly? Definitely not the bare HBP though...w22 wrote:users can print on the MakerGear Heated Bed Platform directly

Re: LCD Panel instructions
I have the LCD upgrade and was also surprised by the lack of information available online. That schematic is somewhat helpful though.

Re: LCD Viki 2.0 vs Makergear LCD
I don't have any experience with using Octoprint so I can't provide a comparison, but for my money the latest MakerGear LCD ( http://www.makergear.com/collections/up ... -interface ) is a pretty nice upgrade.

Re: Is a skirt really necessary?
Strictly speaking it probably isn't necessary, but as ryan said the first few mm of my skirt never go down well despite the purge. I use a 2-outline skirt on every print for this reason and also to verify the outlines are bonding together and the z height didn't somehow get tweaked, etc.

Re: Heated bed troubles
Ohhhhh, sorry I misread. I thought you meant the wire connection at the back of the platform rather than the connection at the RAMBO. It sounds like it is a similar problem though with a flaky electrical connection. If the bed connector is the only one that seems flaky, a new HBP still might fix the...

Re: Heated bed troubles
Sounds like you likely have a loose wire. Here is a related thread that may help a bit:

My HBP wire failed last year and I ended up getting a free replacement from MakerGear.

Sorry for the delay - glad to help! If you still aren't sure which version of the LCD firmware is correct shoot MakerGear an email - Josh straightened me out in 15 minutes flat.

Re: LCD Screen Firmware Issues
So I got the firmware installed now, but now I have a problem with the -Y endstop not functioning properly. When I force a manual -100 Y move and put my finger on the endstop it works fine and when I let it run all the way to the endstop it works fine, but the when I try to start a print from Simpl...

Re: LCD screen user manual?
Exactly. I think what I need to do is implement the code in that thread, into the screen program's pause routine. What I'm not sure of is how that can be done. If it's not an easy setting included in the interface, I might have to put on my programming hat and dive into the firmware files.
