Re: Mechanical Failure

Re: first layer tempature.

Maybe I'll get some of that and give it a try. Abs is way to stiff and brittle then what I need for most parts. There are some parts it works great for though.
Do you print for fun of buisness?

Re: first layer tempature.

How brittle is it? I need something that won't brake when
Under load and impact's. So far nylon seems to work but would be nice to print with something a bit less picky.

Re: first layer tempature.

Do you print much nylon or mostly abs and pla?
Most of the parts I am making need to be strong yet not brittle so the nylon seemse to work very well. The finish on the parts is not as nice as my abs but its close.
Keeping it bone dry is also a must.

How long have you been printing 3d?

Re: first layer tempature.

Yea the nylon is not super easy to print with vs abs. It took me most of a day to get it figured out. The saving grace was figureing out to take printer paper and glue it down to the glass bed and print on top of that! After that it was no problem. Maybe I messed up my default first layer setting an...

Re: Couple questions before purchase

I am just starting out and for me to build working prototypes took longer at first with the printer then actually ma...

Is there some magic tempatuer that it sticks better to the bed vs hotter? I am not haveing any issues with the f...

Re: M2's spotted in 3ders.org article!

Believe it or not you can buy this stuff at Walgreen's While it seems like it would not be cost effective to print those contaniers I am guessing that the product in the jars costs pennys so they can spend a bit on the jars and still make a profit. In the short term printing the jars gets them off a...

Re: Printing nylon on glass bed

With the nylon I print a raft as well on the bigger parts. Anything under 2 inch seems to print fine just on the paper

Printing nylon on glass bed

So I am new to this whole 3d printing game and I got some taulman 618 nylon to print some functional parts with and found out the hard way that it warps and does not stick well to the glass bed I tried a few different things and then I had an idea! I had tried the glue stick but it wouldn't hold big...
