Re: Lowering acceleration/Better looking corners>?
If you're using Simplify3d (excellent slicer), you "Edit Process Settings" then go to the "Scripts" tab and add those lines under "Starting Script". My starting script looks like this and the "acceleration" values are at the bottom: M108 S255 ; turn on M2 fans G28 ; home all axes G1 Y50 Z0.3 F9600 ;...

Re: Unexpected y-axis shift mid print
This is absolutely a weight/acceleration related issue, and if you haven't added a heavy aluminum bed, the default values of 3k for M201, M202 and M204 work perfectly fine for a part weight up to about 45grams. This is consistent across many different parts. Dropping those values to 2k (from 3k) all...

Re: Solvent Bonding
This thread is a great idea.
WELD ON #4 Acrylic Solvent Cement works great for PLA. Sold at Port Plastics for about $9 for 1 pint. Buy the hypodermic applicator bottle too.

Re: Ceramic printing on m2?
There was a recent successful kickstarter where a chemical engineer is using the funds to develop an FDM filament with MIM powder in it. It should do what you (and many of us) want, but he doesn't have it working yet the last time I checked.

Re: nema17 dampers
Even without the heatsink effect of the frame, you'd never be able to overheat the motors before the drivers burn up. One of my cnc mills uses steppers and it's in my garage in Phoenix so it is often at 110F before I even turn it on. It will be fine, enjoy the newfound silence and don't worry about ...
