Those tiny binder clips work beautifully, I've dumped all my 3D printed filament clips after discovering that trick in this forum.

This is absolutely a weight/acceleration related issue, and if you haven't added a heavy aluminum bed, the default values of 3k for M201, M202 and M204 work perfectly fine for a part weight up to about 45grams. WELD ON #4 Acrylic Solvent Cement works great for PLA. Sold at Port Plastics for about $9 for 1 pint. Buy the hypodermic applicator bottle too.

There was a recent successful kickstarter where a chemical engineer is using the funds to develop an FDM filament with MIM powder in it. It should do what you (and many of us) want, but he doesn't have it working yet the last time I checked.
