Re: "Relaxing" video of my MakerGear M2

Very nice videos. Nice gear. Have you ever considered 3D printing some space ships and doing green screen fly-bys and dog fights? Kinda in a way - not with 3D models but for some product videos I considered using the trick of using my motion control rig to fly the camera past the product to make it...

I actually have 20 rolls of filament in all sorts of colors just out of view to the left of the printer!

Re: "Relaxing" video of my MakerGear M2

I've been doing videography long enough that I know when to "pull back" on the soundtrack and when to blast it. :) I also wanted the soundtrack to be low-key as I included live printer sounds as well. As far as camera movement goes, I'm using the Kessler CineDrive which is the king of motion control...

"Relaxing" video of my MakerGear M2

Just a quick, leisurely video I shot of my MakerGear M2 doing what it does best. I've been printing almost 24/7 since Feb. and am very happy to say I've had no issues!

Re: About MakerGear Video

gah those bed arms :o Yeah, they are pretty horrible....that's why I bought an M2 which has been working perfectly NON-STOP 24/7 since I bought it on 1/9 of this year. About to finally dive into NinjaFlex next..... But anyway, there is a ton of things MakerGear could do to in the video space to inc...

Re: About MakerGear Video

This may be out of the scope of the video, but we really need some videos showing all of the little tips and tricks that pop up in the forum. For example, I had accidentally stumbled across the one thread that outlines how to zip-tie the heated build plate wires so that they won't break.....that sho...

Re: Help with better surface finish...

I'm surprised you're not getting over extrusion and ridging at a >1 multiplier. Most of us have found an extrusion multiplier somewhere between .9 and 1.0 to be effective. If you have calipers, measure your filament diameter at several points and enter the average into S3D. You may find that your f...

Re: Help with better surface finish...

Thanks for the tips - been non-stop printing test prints and am currently at Extrusion Multiplier 1.10, Extrusion Width 0.50 and I'm getting very close to the surface finish I am looking for, but we'll see how it continues....

Help with better surface finish...

Hello fellow M2 owners, I got my M2 kit earlier on this month and have been printing/tweaking it in S3D for weeks now, trying to perfect printing of a pretty straight forward model that I've created (it is mostly surface area with a few segments that stick out of it). As you can see from the photo b...

Re: S3D Issues with new M2

Yep, choosing the "RepRap (Marlin/Repetier/Sprinter)" option fixed my current problem. Thank you all for helping fix my issue!
