Re: Large Overhead Filament Spools
I added filament runout sensors to my printers, now I just let them run until the 1kg spool runs out. The print pauses and waits for me to change out the filament, and everything works as I'd hope. With a simple print and a drill, you can also reload the 1kg spools from a 25kg master spool, too. Thi...

Re: (used) new makergear purchase
If it's a dual V4 extruder (vs a custom one) with a 3-point spider and a top-homing setup, it's a prototype dual -- so Rev D, ~ ish. I'd take the whole thing (carefully) apart, clean all the slides with WD40 / QTips over and over, and re-lube with sewing machine oil. Make sure the fans are clean and...

Re: Unexpected y-axis shift mid print
This is absolutely a weight/acceleration related issue, and if you haven't added a heavy aluminum bed, the default values of 3k for M201, M202 and M204 work perfectly fine for a part weight up to about 45grams. This is consistent across many different parts. Dropping those values to 2k (from 3k) al...

Re: Issues with the X-axis
You can stop using that horrible lithium grease in the carriages. It's supposed to be a very thin machine oil. The lithium was for the old metal-on-metal Z axis. Take the carriage off, clean it out with WD40 and alcohol until it's dry, then lubricate with 1 drop per side of sewing machine oil. Clean...

That's definitely nozzle drag. Z-Hop / Vertical lift will fix it. You only need 0.20mm

I don't know about the Viki2, but my firmware is set up for the Viki1. I can post it on Github.
