Vertical Mount Filament Drive
Successor to "Bottom Mount". I began this project when I found that the groove mount can become loose affecting print quality. Several months later I now have a more robust filament drive that exceeds my initial goal. Nine months, 20+ design changes, and 40+ hours of successful test printing resulte...

Re: type of oil to lubricate rails in m2
Engine oil conforms to the most rigid performance, anti-corrosion & durability specs I'm aware of. I use 0-20W.

Re: M2 Auto-Leveling
Bed Leveling drove me nuts until I decided to understand the geometry. Now it's no big deal. 1- Adjust Z reading over North screw to match South screw. 2- Adjust East screw to same level as North & South screws. Done. 3- East-West can be improved a bit by then measuring near X=0 & X=200, making them...

Re: E3D V6
Gary, i change nozzles on a daily basis. I switch between a .4 and .6 all the time. I heat it up, put a small wrench on it when hot and its a done deal. Perfect! That's what I was hoping to hear. BTW: With more than a 2:1 nozzle flow area increase going from .4 to .6, are any settings changes requi...

Re: E3D V6
Jim, Thanks again. I think I'll stay around 235-240 for my PID autotone. I've watched Tom's videos and agree on their goodness. I assume that you didn't do a high-temperature final torque on the nozzle. Correct? Here's a question for other viewers of this topic: Did you depart from recommended proce...

Re: E3D V6
as for the stock thermistor, cut the blue insulation in half, slide it onto the thermistor leads so its up tight to the head of it then take a piece of blue tape, fold it in half and squeeze it around the head and insulation. this will hold everything tight while you do your crimps. slide the crimp...
