Re: Weird noise from brand new M2 Rev E

It seems to occur a bit before a direction change? I just had a quick listen, as it loud where I am. My first thought was to wonder if it was an oddity in the code from the slicer. Is it just this printer? Do the others print the same model on duplicate settings honklessly? :D If they all do it, at ...

Re: Brims vs Rafts?

you could try running the first few layers without a fan.

can you post up a screenshot or pic or the stl file so we can see what you got going on printwise?

Re: CNC Laser cutter/engraver

I have built an MPCNC and use it as a laser engraver. It does a fairly amazing, but slow job. You can’t engrave metal, but plastic/paper/wood (flammable stuff) are not a problem. Also don’t expect much cutting either. The small laser is not powerful enough. Don’t be fooled though, it will easily sta...

Re: Single Outside Layer

That white lasered over black nylon looks like the way to. Jim has a very good point about bonding between paint and print. Make sure you are using a white lacquer and not an enamel. The acetone solvent will slightly soften the ABS and the paint will stick nicely. The other thought would be to print...

Re: Aging of PETG Filament?

It is not uncommon to have an issue switching back to PLA from PETG. You may have a partial clog even with cleaning filament. It may work the first few times, but after a lot of switching, you may just need to pull the nozzle and torch it. It could be a piece of PETG that has hardened or a bit of PL...

Re: A good start

Another cool project from Thingiverse. This is the O’Cello. It is about 4feet tall and printed in multiple parts. This is an impressive looking project, but is not that difficult to build. I made a few custom parts that I uploaded back to Tverse as remixes. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1703629 ...

Re: Refurbished not recommended for new users?

Don’t overhink it! Just use the bolt with a slightly snug hole and run it through and give it a few extra turns and it will self ream the hole to a perfect fit. I too, make mechanical stuff with my printer. You should go over to thingiverse and look at the Tools category. Simply amazing work being d...

Re: Priorities for "Hot Rodding" My M2E?

Flip that list upside down. You nailed it Insta. Plus, the other mods are very easy to knock out first. I have not met an “enclosure problem” that could not be solved by better adhesion, leveling, or software tweak as long as you have reasonable surrounding temps. Constant warp in front sounds like...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

why not print the strap upside down so you don’t need support? hard to tell if you can do that from your photo, but it looks like the simplest solution. Also, your title is about PETG, your post is about PLA, and your temps are closer to PETG and way too high for PLA. If you are running PLA that hig...

Re: PLA Plus Other Than eSun?

Stick up a screenshot of the “flexible snap feature” and you may get some feedback on improving the design for PLA. PLA snap fits are totally doable. Most of the time you can get them to work just fine by designing a less aggressive hook or working the hook lightly with a file to smooth the action a...
