Extrusion problem

I was printing with a spool of black PETg without issues. Then, I changed to a spool of white PETg I used before without running though any cleaning filament. Now I have an extrusion problem: I have tried several 1-2 hours print, and the extrusion seems to stop when it gets to the top solid layers. ...

Re: Extrusion calibration

Thanks for all the replies:) My next question is, if I calibrated with 0.2mm layer height, then change the setting to 0.25mm layer height, do I need to re-calibrate? Or the software will adapt that change automatically?

Re: Extrusion calibration

Does it matter if I use 0.2mm or 0.25mm layer height?

Re: How to print 2 parts as a single part?

Try Meshlab. Simply use “Import Mesh” to open all your .stl files. Navigate to Filters -> Layer and Attribute Management -> Flatten Visible Layers’ Click “apply” Export Mesh as… -> merged.stl - Download Meshlab here, and yes, it crashes a lot, thats why its called Crashlab: http://meshlab.sourcefor...

Re: How to print 2 parts as a single part?

These are the parts for the InMoov robot. I agree it's hard to use Meshmixer...for now I'll just print them separately and glue them together, seems that's the easiest way to go. Thanks for the reply!

Re: How to print 2 parts as a single part?

there is always a small gap between them WHich is the problem with getting only the STL files (or getting the solid model, but not the spendy CAD software that produced them): you can't modify the "source code", no matter what license applies to the model. Thanks! I tried to merge the surfaces in R...

How to print 2 parts as a single part?

As shown in the picture, I want to print these two parts as a single part without any gap between them. I tried to manually align them, but there is always a small gap between them, which causes a hole in the print preview. Should I use other software to merge them first? I only have the STL files f...

Re: best paint for PETg?

jimc wrote:sand the model or red scotchbrite it. assuming you only have off the shelf type paints available, find some good high build automotive rattle can primer. do a few coats of that, sand smooth with 400 grit sandpaper then paint with whatever you want.
Thanks!

best paint for PETg?

I am about to print some models with PETg, which requires painting the parts with different colors. I am wondering what would be the best type of paint that should be used on PETg? Would enamel paint work? Thanks!

I didn't know that :D I thought one can use 100% old material...
