Feed Failures with PETG

Is anyone else having a recurring problem where PETG inexplicably stops feeding during the print? I like PETG for certain things but this is an ongoing annoyance and a showstopper. I had assumed it was clogging but just last night I just happened to notice it stop feeding during a print, so I jumped...

Re: larger Nozzle diameter to prevent clogs?

Twice now I've had a clog since upgrading to the v4 and was just thinking the same thing, that a .5mm nozzle might help. The nature of the clog was odd: After running ePC and PC-Plus for a while and switching to PLA for a while, I got a clog a month or so ago where what appeared to be a remnant of P...

Re: How You Too Can Achieve Printing Nirvana

Hey Jules, I see .003" PEI on McMaster but not .03". Did you use .003"?

Re: Mic 6 tooling plate

Mine just came in Friday -- thanks jimc!

Printing first print with it now, PC-Plus White with Jim's hairspray application recipe and Garnier Fructis no. 5. This printer may finally have reached its ultimate state. So happy:

Re: Polymaker PC-Plus White vs. Black, Very Different

Indeed! And Jules, your point about the color mattering for the Zebra, I realized it might also be a significant effect for the filament itself and might explain why the black appears more gummy to me... just retaining heat longer. As a result I just generated a separate FFF for black and white. I b...

Re: Polymaker PC-Plus White vs. Black, Very Different

Nevermind!

I ran the exact same gcode on the black side of the Zebra last night and the adhesion was just as good as the white. It still seems more stringy but adhesion appeared to be identical.

Lesson: Run PC-Plus black on the black Zebra side (until my MIC6 plate from jimc comes in anyway).

Ahh excellent points. And I wasn't even thinking of the emissivity difference, that could do it too. Okay, will try the same print tonight on the black side.

Polymaker PC-Plus White vs. Black, Very Different

Hi all, It seems like I've been printing with Polymaker PC-Plus White almost exclusively lately. I feel like I finally have an engineering-grade material to work with in PC-Plus (and ePC from eSun using the same FFF). Haven't tried the natural-color PC-Plus yet. That said, I bought some PC-Plus Blac...
