Re: Dual color printed container that ships with M3-ID

I guess just for the record, it's worth ending this forum thread with the link to the github site for the M3 parts, now that it is has been made public (although that happened a month ago and I've been busy doing other things and didn't notice). The knurled box can be found here: https://github.com/...

Re: STL of Linear Rail??

Thanks, that's a useful model to have.

I was going to say that I have a short piece of plastic rail that came with the extra carriage I got, which you can have if you need it.

Re: Two Community Events - We the Rosies & ERRF

Indeed, we had a great time at ERRF. Best use of the M2 at the show: Mosaic Manufacturing of Toronto came and showed off their Palette, which combines four incoming spools of filament by cutting and splicing them, done several feet away from the printer but synchronized to the time that the filament...

Re: Two Community Events - We the Rosies & ERRF

Just a reminder that this event (East Coast Rep Rap Festival) is tomorrow, for anyone in the general area of northeastern Maryland, which includes pretty much everything in the I-95 corridor from Washington D.C. up to Philadelphia. I will be there showing off my custom "twin extruder" M2 and a bunch...

Re: Restarting M2; Electronic Board Flash?

Most likely, yes. The seller of the board is irrelevant, but I assume it is a RAMBo (otherwise you'd have a great deal of difficulty doing the replacement)? What revision number (the revision number should be printed on the board)? The firmware on these boards does NOT come from the SD card; it's pr...

Re: (used) new makergear purchase

I agree with insta, most likely a rev D model. To get the dual extruder on the M2 (assuming, as insta says, it's the standard MakerGear M2 dual extruder) requires the V4 upgrade and the 24V upgrade, so basically if the model was earlier than a rev D, it would pretty much have to have been upgraded t...

M2: The indestructible

I just wanted to share a little testimonial here. . . The photo is of a MakerGear M2 that I bought second-hand and donated to the local high school (Poolesville), which has an excellent science and math magnet program that I felt ought to be teaching kids about 3D printing technology on a regular ba...

Re: Printer not working due to mainboard failure?

SO I went back to the board and noticed that I've missplaced the FAN0 connector, using half of the FAN0 board plug and half HEAT1 plug... It took (-) from HEAT1 and (+) from FAN0... So now my question is: Did I burn my board!!!??? To answer this specific question: I had a fan and a power supply han...

Re: Makergear M2 - Cannot raise bed past certain level

If the model is old enough, you probably have the older Z-stage motor that runs hot. I think these motors were used up to mid-2013. If the motor is hot to the touch when running (not burning hot, but uncomfortably hot), then it means you have the older motor, and it is heading for a premature death....

Re: Removing the hot ends from the M2 Dual

The M2 dual is a v4 model extruder design. Like all v4 extruders, the mount is an aluminum plate that bolts to the carriage. The hot end assembly passes through a hole in the plate and is held in place by a tightening screw in front (for the M2 dual, the plate is much wider, and there are holes on e...
