I wouldn't think so. It's not a super-precision type of thing.

Re: Quieter Fans

Not for the power supply.... To replace the fan that blows across the printer bed. Ah, sorry. In my case simply removing the fan guard made the fan so much quieter that I decided not to go to the trouble of replacing it. Also, of all the fans in the system, the airflow from this fan is probably the...

Re: Quieter Fans

The 60mm fan in the power supply is a 12v part.

Re: Quieter Fans

Many here on the forum are using the noctura fans. I know they are being used because there quiet. My question is what is there life like? These are not inexpensive fans. A Noctua 60mm fan is $15 from Newegg. Granted this is much more than a generic 60mm fan which can generally be had for anywhere ...

Re: Quieter Fans

The printer was purchased new in Feb. of 2016. Ideally, I would like to find quiet 24V fans as replacements, as opposed to going through the trouble of adapting the setup for 12V fans. Wouldn't we all... If 24V fans are not the norm for 40mm, what if anything would be the benefit of utilizing them?...

Re: Quieter Fans

You can simply unplug the small fan in the box containing the controller; it's not really needed. I've been running without mine for months. If you have an older M2, this fan is apparently wired in series with the extruder fan-- the small one that blows on the extruder gear, not the large bed fan. I...

Re: Inter-layer adhesion issue

no you cant read the hotend temp with an ir thermometer. you need far more precision than that. you need a probe and meter to actually contact the hotend at different points. unless you see your temp jumping all around in s3d then 99% your thermistor is fine. Probably is fine then. sounds to me lik...

Re: Inter-layer adhesion issue

I think I've somehow screwed up my thermistor. I have the factory files I saved for printing 1, 4, and 8 fobs at a time-- and every one of them has the extruder at 205 and the bed temp at 60. I can print at 205 now, barely (this is with the same roll of filament, now almost gone) but the models prod...

Re: Z-stop light still on at layer 3

You need to set your z off set to zero. Z off set is for advanced users. You set the z stop with the bolt. So that the bed homes to the correct z gap below the nozzle. You home the machine and slide your feeler gauge between the end of the printers nozzle and the heated bed. Adjust bolt so bed stop...

Z-stop light still on at layer 3

I was printing this Ford table stand (some day, I will print things other than Ford-related items). The print was going well although I noticed the head seemed to lightly hit parts of the model during rapid transits across existing sections. Then I noticed that although Layer 3 was printing, the Z-s...
