It's not a check box, but by default as long as the supports have only one angle set and reasonable spacing from the design, they snap off reasonably cleanly after printing. You can even nearly unfold the snake of support that comes off.rsilvers wrote:There is a snap-away option in S3D?

Re: HIPS dissolvable support test
Is this using s3d's snap away supports? I would suggest tryingsupports with intimate contact and just saturate the area, you might be able to adjust the settings to get this, if you are lucky.

Re: v4 Status
Do you need the dual extruder in order to print supports (generated in Simplify3d)? Or can the single do it? Also, what are the other advantages of having a dual extruder? You can print supports with a single extruder. Simplify3d makes some of the best supports on the m2. Most slicer generated supp...

Minimum order is 5 feet. So that's about 180 changings worth... I guess 90 if you have dual extruders.rpollack wrote:Cut a new piece of PTFE (0.330" length, McM part: 52335K32).

Re: v4 Status
If I remove the plastic barrel mount off of the v3b, would the threaded barrel fit in the v4 mount? Or would it if the threads were ground off?

Re: v4 Status
I loves me some upgrades. Next thing - dual 'struders, one with soluble support and the other with plastic! Hopefully they offer a single to dual extruder conversion kit. Rick made more v3b to dual v4 kits available recently: http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=755&start=130#p7485 $299 ...

Sorry, not a home right now so I can't take a picture for you. But I think Rick posted one somewhere previously in this thread that might show it... Edit: check the photo on Page 5 of http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=755 --- this shows the hot end mounting, which mounts to the carria...

Re: Dual Extruder Upgrade - Limited Availability
I'm in.
I'm assuming you're doing the same v4 hot ends. one metal, one w/ptfe insert.
Why is it good to have two different types? Do they heat up and behave differently? Why not make them both the same?
I'm guessing all metal is preferred to ptfe insert. Am I wrong?

Re: Dual extruder pin valves
I don't have much faith in the cyclops design either. It's clever, but I think independent paths can do better. Parking and wiping is a good solution. But then you need another motor and belt or a clutch.
Keep thinking.
