Re: nema17 dampers
I've been considering doing this upgrade. The one downside seems to be that the dampers significantly reduce the heatsinking the motors see. There are 40 mm square heatsinks you can stick on with thermal tape or epoxy. Has anyone noticed that their steppers are getting extra toasty? Anyone using hea...

Re: S3d Default profile
Why doesn't S3D ship with a default profile for the MakerGear that prints well? Every new owner has to come here and ask about layer shifting and then adjust their speeds. Every new user has to wonder why their support material breaks off the bed and then learns to add pads. Every new user gets lot...

Re: M2 nightmare with soft filiment
I've modified the factory drive model to give the added clearance required for the grooved sleeved bearing, and printed one up in PETG. The sleeve & bearing combo now spins freely until you really crank on the tension screw, far more than normal. The next time I change filament, I'll swap this drive...

Re: Anyone Try Polymaker PC-Max?
That second comment was from an Amazon reviewer, not me. I have NOT opened mine. I'm still working on finishing my enclosure in the hopes that will help with whatever flavor of PC I end up using. One reviewer of the Polymaker PC-Max stuff who really liked it has a heated enclosure. It will be some t...

Re: Anyone Try Polymaker PC-Max?
Of all the users on the forum, I trust that if Zemlin got a bad roll, he would have figured that out & done something about it. I may still experiment with it later, but I don't have time to screw around with suspect filament at the moment. An Amazon reviewer had strength issues with the black ePC a...

Anyone Try Polymaker PC-Max?
I want to print some filament drives, and bought some eSun ePC in black. However, Zemlin has posted that he's had a lot of problems with the black version, although the clear/natural works fine. I figure if Zemlin can't get it to behave, I'm not going to waste my time on it. I was going to get a spo...

Re: Build plate height differences
Is anyone making MIC6 plates available for the M2 these days? I know there have been a couple limited runs in the past. I know I can buy some & cut it down myself, but I already have a backlog of other projects.
Also, how thick is your plate?

Re: Reprinting Filament Drive. What material should I use?
I was all set to print up some spare drives & play with a few design mods, and I've got a brand new spool of black ePC to print with. However, Zemlin reports that he hasn't been able to get the black ePC to behave nearly as well as the natural/clear ePC. I asked about using PETG in that thread, and ...

Re: Black ePC - disappointing first print
Sounds like I need to buy a spool of clear ePC... It would be nice to be able to print it in black, but not if it's going to compromise the functionality. Quite a few others have posted that they have printed spare drives in PETG, and I don't recall anyone mentioning stiction problems, but I can see...

Re: Black ePC - disappointing first print
I purchased a spool of black ePC recently, specifically for printing replacement filament drives. I haven't opened it up yet because I want to run it fresh before it soaks up any moisture, and I've been waiting for the dust to settle on this thread. It sounds like the black ePC has some serious issu...
