Re: Methods for extra bed cooling?

One way to compare two fans is to heat up the nozzle to 250C, turn it off, and then graph the temp fall rate.

Re: Ninjaflex with Simplify3D

I use McMaster part number 52335K32.

It is $2.54 per foot. I believe there is a 5-foot minimum. Your link looks fine to me, and will cost less with shipping.

Re: Methods for extra bed cooling?

The reason you need a fan with a higher static pressure rating for a ducted application is because the fan needs to be able to overcome more of a restriction (reduced outlet size). However when the fan is free flowing, its static pressure rating isn't of much consequence because as long as the air ...

Re: MakerGear M2 Enclosures

My thought on my enclosure is that it is very important for ABS and PC, but fine or even best outside of the enclosure for PLA and PETG. I think PLA and PETG are all one needs to print (unless you need some of the colors that you can get in ABS), so I would suggest to just not buy ABS and don't both...

Re: 3dprint.com 2015 buyer's guide

Mine is noisy but that is because I put three 11,000 rpm fans on it. If I wanted it to have less reliability and performance comparable to my past less reliable and lower performing printers, I could make it much less noisy.

Re: Best Support Generator

I have not seen a way to get it at a discount. I am glad that I got it. But if it didn't exist, I could use Slic3r and be happy.

Re: Is there a list of filament types officially supported b

Yes, dimensionally accurate filament at whatever price it costs. The only problem is, no one is positive which filament is the most in spec most of the time. My MakerGear spool of black has been perfect. Just note - if a filament says 1.75mm +- 0.05mm, and it is less than 1.70mm or more than 1.80mm ...

Re: Methods for extra bed cooling?

static air pressure should only be a factor if you're using a duct, or restriction of some kind. In that case yes, neither the fan that came with the printer, nor the one I replaced it with, will put out enough pressure to realize the potential of a ducting system. "Static air pressure" and "air pr...

Re: Is there a list of filament types officially supported b

I would suggest only using PLA and eSun PETG. I had good results with MakerGear PLA. Right now I am using HatchBox brand.

ABS smells, warps, cracks. PETG is almost as temp resistant as ABS and prints so much easier plus it does not absorb humidity so you don't have to keep it sealed.
