2nd Nozzle Ripping up build from 1st Nozzle

I have this problem with my Dual Nozzle M2. As I am laying down the first layer, the other nozzle catches on any projection and rips it up, ruining the piece. I've check to make sure both nozzles are at the same height cold. This would appear to be an unavoidable problem which will only get worse wi...

Installing software on Upgraded Dual Extruder M2

I have a MakerGear M2 that I've been very pleased with. A few months ago I bought the dual extruder upgrade. The hardware installation was difficult because the instructions were confusing, but I think I got that finally. Then came the software and I'm lost. I gave up and the printer has sat there w...

Re: Dual Extruder Part Problem

I never looked at the bottom of the belt lock. Apparently some of the nuts got pushed out. Thank you for straightening it out for me :-)

Dual Extruder Part Problem

I got the dual extruder upgrade a month or so ago and finally had time to try to install it. I got as far as page 3 where it says to put the belt clamp on the belt and fasting the mounting plate to the clamp and tighten the bolts. Half of the bolts will not tighten. One of them slides all the way in...

Octopi with Dual Extruder Mod

I just got my dual extruder upgrade. I see where Simplify 3D v3.0 will handle dual extruders to do the slicing and generate the gcode. I normally use a Raspberry Pi with Octopi/Octoprint software to run the printer. Has anyone used this with the dual extruder upgrade? Will it process the gcode? Is t...

How Do I keep print head from knocking over structures?

I'm having a problem with the print head catching on delicate structures like supports when it fast travels to the next point. Is there any way to avoid this or at least minimize it?

A Good Surface for PLA

I have had a lot of trouble getting PLA to stick properly, or stick so well I can't get the piece loose. So I had this idea. I clamped a plain sheet of printer paper down on top of the glass. The paper surface seems to make a perfect surface for PLA. When the print is done I just lift the paper off ...

Re: PLA not sticking

I can't read the M2 demos. Can someone tell me what the settings should be for Simplify3D? It is definitely something wrong in the process. I redid the gcode file for a cap that printed fine the first time and it did the same thing as before. The print head appears to be lifting too high for the fir...

Re: PLA not sticking

Ok .. apparently it is something messed up in the process for this piece I'm trying to build. I went back with everything exactly the same and ran the Bigfoot demo .. and it ran perfectly. I'm using S3D, so now I need to go in and see what has changed between Bigfoot and this Koi I'm trying to print...

Re: PLA not sticking

OK .. I tried running filament through at 244 and then tried another print at 215. This is the result. Any ideas?
