Re: How To: Z-Stop & Bed Leveling

Although the glass is pretty good as far as being flat, it's not necessarily uniform thickness. I measured a couple glass beds, and found that my original one was slightly wedge shaped; it was thicker on one side that the other. If I have to remove the bed for any reason, I make sure I install it in...

Re: Spray on PVA glue

Sounds like not enough glue or too much water. I got a small fine mist spray spray bottle at Bed Bath & Beyond for about a dollar that works nicely. I use the "goes on purple dries clear" Emer's glue sticks. You don't want to hose it down, just add enough water to spread it in a film.

Re: Spray on PVA glue

I lay down a grid of glue stick, and then spray it with a bit of water. I then smear it into an even film with my finger. Works great on PETG & PLA using the bare glass side of the factory build plate. I can refresh it several times by just hitting it with a quick spray & re-smearing it in any areas...

Tips for Replacing Filament Drive Gearbox Pinion?

My pinion gear is getting a bit worn, and I have a replacement. I've seen various comments that they may be installed with an adhesive. At a minimum it's probably going to require a tiny gear puller, maybe along with some heat. Any recommendations on a puller the right size? If I need to apply heat,...

Re: Cura 2.3.0 MakerGear M2 file

At some point, they reversed where the Z axis "home" position is located. On the Rev. E, the Z limit switch is with the platform all the way down. I'm not sure when they changed, but the older versions of the M2 had the Z limit switch at the top. It sounds like that's where your problem originates.

Re: M2- Revision G not extruding

The frame doesn't look that different from my M2E, but the way they mount the bed cooling fan to the extruder is definitely a departure. However, I'm not sure I'd consider it an improvement...

Re: M2- Revision G not extruding

First thing to check is whether the extruder motor is turning. I put a thin black marker stripe across the back end of the motor shaft so I can easily see if it's going round & round. If it isn't, you may have an electrical problem. If the motor is turning, it's most likely that the extruder has jam...

Re: Layers off centered & weirdness

If it's always in one direction, I'd suspect an intermittent connection to the drive motor.

Re: The Dreaded Filament Drive Clicking Sound...

Thanks for the comments! I'll have to check the notes I have on doing a cold-pull, which I believe you do with the extruder unmounted. I've been thinking about machining a "handle" that would clamp onto the extruder the way the normal mount does. I'd prefer not to chew up the mounting surface with p...

The Dreaded Filament Drive Clicking Sound...

I switched from red eSun PETG to some white HatchBox PETG, and after purging the extruder for a while and starting a small print job, I started getting clicking (actually, more of a clunking...) from the printer. The part was long & skinny in the Y directions, and it was most noticeable when it was ...
