If you're using Simplify3D you can put in some end g-code (in the scripts part of the process dialog) to drop the bed almost to the bottom under power. Bryan, That occurred to me also. A delta printer can move fast in all three directions at once, whereas the z-screw seems relatively slow. So maybe with a delta there is a possibility of building the final surface by bridging a 3D mesh across "support pillars", and then printing detail on top of that.

The time stamp on posts is 5 hours ahead on my computer. Is that something I have to fix in a profile somewhere or is it a setting for the whole board?

That step of adding Kapton tape to the surface would seem to limit applications. I wonder if there's a support material you could print with, then change to your surface material and have that not stick to the support but just rest on it.

I'd like an "Applications" section, where people can post about what they're doing with their prints. Might be some overlap with the "Show off" section but lots of times the prints aren't the point so much as what they enable to be done.
