did a test print with petg wth no heat, dint stick as well, print fell off 2/3 the way though, but playing with squish and addint some bed temp... also gave the bed a little heat, like 40c for the first layer, and it stuck like cazy, so.. needs a little more trial and error.

wow, i remember when i was a kid, they had model kits you could build that you assembled using friction welding called spinwelder, came with a motor and a "welding rods" which basically pushed onto a motor shaft. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnWpcwnR2YA

i'm going to try optical myself... less hassle, flexible for surface types, and if implemented right, could be accurate within .01mm+-. which should be good enough. in theory you could get down as low as .001mm but, i'm not going to use a laser for this. problem with most optical approaches i've see...

PLA prints went very well...
no heat - print stuck well, and came off the plate easy enough, and very clean. i can add pics if anyone interested

temperature difference bed vs hbp IMG_0346 (Custom).JPG first abs print at the above temp - no warping.. it stuck to the plate very well IMG_0372 (Custom).JPG VERY VERY WELL IMG_0377 (Custom).JPG cant use acetone, they say scrape and sand the stuck print off.
