Re: Ripple / Shadow effect on raised details?

Thanks for the replies!
I will probably begin by looking at the Nema dampeners. I read about it before, but thought they were mainly for noise improvements so I did not really dig into that.

Thanks again guys!

Re: Ripple / Shadow effect on raised details?

Mmm... Maybe...
The black one is PLA. I think it was at 60 mm/s.
The blue one is PETG at 40 mm/s.

Ripple / Shadow effect on raised details?

Hi there, Any time I have a raised detailed on a side wall (lettring for example) I can see a ripple effect of that detail. I have been wondering for a while what could cause this, but did not come to any kind of solution so far. Does any of you have any idea what could cause this? Thanks! Capture1....

Re: Zero: Manual vs Printing mode on a Rev.E

Well no I don't see it worth the time. I understand that what I am trying to achieve is not easily doable.
It would have been nice though to be able to get that number at which the print begins.
I understand that number is somehow hidden though.

Thanks Jules!

Re: Zero: Manual vs Printing mode

Kind of yes. I saw that thread and understood I can adjust the Z height using those codes, but I would like to know from what height I start. I do not want the print start height to be the Z home. I would like to manually home the Z height (at the bottom near the switch), and then enter a line of co...

Re: Zero: Manual vs Printing mode

Just let me look at it another way so I can get it our of my head.

On a Rev.E, while not printing and using S3D as a control interface, can I manually raise the bed to the height the print would start?

Re: Zero: Manual vs Printing mode

Thanks for that answer. That also explains a lot of "does not apply to Rev.E" comments I saw on the forum and never really understood the reason for. I wanted to "zero" the bed near the nozzle so I could just put a filler gauge under the nozzle, drop the nozzle and retight it into place. I guess I w...

Zero: Manual vs Printing mode on a Rev.E

I have been looking for this on the forum but did not have any luck. Is there a way to Zero the bed in manual mode using S3D on a RevE? I mean, when I home all my axes, I ready Z=0. But my bed is fard down where the limit swithes are. Now, when I start a print over USB, I can read the Z value during...

It must be me and the English not getting along, but I am not getting this. Could you explain it? I am using PETG more and more and am much interested in its limitations.
Thanks!

Re: Air tight / Seal a print?

Hey thanks for all your great feedbacks! I'll make sure to grab some table epoxy next time I go the hardware store. Easy Cast might be harder to get in my area, I'll look for it next time I go in the city. So during the night I printed those 5 samples. 3.PNG All I had today to run my first trial was...
