Re: The MakerGear Website - input requested

Not sure if this thread includes the forum, but can phpbb be updated to at least 3.1.x? They introduced a mobile responsive theme with 3.1 which would greatly help browsing the forum on the go. 3.2 was just released with a few other features, too.

Re: Question about software printer geometry corrections.

I'm sure others can provide a more detailed answer for the M2 but this machine doesn't really need it. The auto leveling beds you see now spawned for two main reasons in my opinion: ability to use cheaper and thinner materials and ability to print without being perfect. By using software compensatio...

Re: How to make my first 3D printer experience a smooth one!

I agree with Jules on all points, but here's my thoughts on a few of them as well. 1. What filament type is the best to achieve this type of experience (ABS, PLA, etc)? Dual extruder setups are finicky and troubleshooting printing issues can be harder; both concerns are non-issues for those that understand the technology. Adding your own extruder later will not be too difficult, especially as you learn your machine a...

Re: Octoprint Printer Profile

I've been out of the 3D printing game for about 2 years (getting an M2 very soon), but when I worked with a Makerbot I noticed similar time differences as you show. I don't know if or how the time estimate changed, but I found that the print time used to be based on time_per_layer * number_of_layers...
