Re: Uneven extruder tension

Check to see if the wheel that guides the filament into the teeth of the gear is loose, or if the set screw on the toothed gear is loose allowing it to shift. Check the teeth on the gear, make sure they are not worn or clogged. And we have a winner! The key was removing the fans and watching more c...

Uneven extruder tension

Finally getting back to printing-- the demand for my HP-themed fobs was high so I need to print some more! And the new hot end arrived, so all should be well. Actually...no. The problem remains. I think this picture illustrates it well: http://neko.com/makergear/extruder_issue.jpg The filament extru...

Re: Return of under-extrusion

Well, I give up: three different nozzles-- 2 brand new-- haven't made any difference, and the filament, when extracted after extrusion, has the ground-up look you get when you're forcing it and the drive gear strips the plastic. So I ordered a spare parts kit. I'm pretty sure replacing everything wi...

Return of under-extrusion

I had an under-extrusion problem recently that I finally, with the help of folks here, identified and rectified via a new nozzle. Everything printed perfectly for a couple of weeks, but I just had an identical problem 29 hours into a 34 hour print, sigh. So I swapped in a new nozzle and...it made no...

This is just a "thank you", since you and Insta were in fact correct...

Re: Third layer problems

Hey, look at that! Everything prints great with a new nozzle! And I mean perfectly : models that printed as tangled piles of filament as shown on images I posted on this thread now print-- with no changes other than Z-offset-- like press photos from Makergear to show how great the printer is. Not su...

Re: Third layer problems

Hard to say, but using my digital calipers it looks as if a single strand averages about 0.42-0.44mm.

I have a new spare nozzle that I'm installing now...

Re: Third layer problems

NOTHING ELSE HAS CHANGED and SUDDENLY YOU CAN'T PRINT Have you successfully printed the same model sliced with the same parameters ? Yes. Aside from removing the nozzle, clearing the clog, reinstalling the nozzle, and re-gapping and leveling, nothing has changed-- that is, none of the profile param...
