Re: Hatchbox PETG - Looking Good!
I would like to find a non-aerosol hairspray that works good. The nice thing about the pump sprays is that you can empty them out into a plastic squirt bottle and then just squirt some on the plate and spread it around with a napkin without having to remove the plate each time. Spraying a plate with...

Re: Hatchbox PETG - Looking Good!
I've been evaluating Mic6 plates with hairspray recently myself. I get super results holding down PLA, but PETG barely sticks at all. If I really squish the first PETG layer down I can manage to get a part out, but the slightest little thing will cause a peel-up on the first layer and then it's all ...

Re: Patent Pending
I think that if the original inventor files a provisional patent but then never files for the full patent within a year of filing the provisional then nobody else can come along and patent it. The patentability is just dead at that point. So if you had a product that you didn't want to spend thousan...

Re: Changing Y Axis Bearing
Yeah, I had to drill the heads out and buy replacement bolts to put it back together just like you did.

Re: Challenge - Spiral Stair
I've seen some pretty crappy looking houses in other countries and some very nice ones in America as well. It all comes down to money. You go to the neighborhoods where people have a lot of money and you see nice houses, whereas you go to the ghetto and you see rat holes. That doesn't change no matt...

Changing Y Axis Bearing
Is there a trick to getting the 6 bolts out of the spider bracket that is mounted on top of the bearings? They seem to be screwed in so tight that I strip the allen key or socket head about 50% of the time and wind up having to drill the bolts out to remove the old bearing. I don't know if some kind...

That would be a tough one to climb in real life too, I think I would be dizzy by the time I got to the top!

I always feel like such a lame Dad when I see stuff like this. I wish I had time to make my kids childhood that awesome. It's a very tiny window of time, it's great that you are making the most of it Daz.

Re: ePC hold-down method
Wow, I didn't know you could print ePC that hot. I finally got some filament drives to stick to PEI by roughing the PEI with 220 grit sandpaper and squishing the hell out of the first layer on a 100c bed. I still get about 50% failure rate due to warping, but on the filament drives that did complete...

Re: Patent Pending
Put off those provisional patents as long as you can, since once you do it the clock is ticking and you know how fast a year can go by. Do not put it off too long. As I understand patent law, since the day you published this, you only have a year to file for the real thing. That's true, once you pu...
