Re: Nylon

What speed are you printing? What layer height are you using and when and how did you last set your starting height? Hopefully it was an electric over as you can not dry filament in a gas fired oven as it creates moisture as the flame burns.. Bed temp should be 80C See attached which is currently on...

Re: side skirt

If you are designing the part, you would do that in the cad software. If you are using other peoples parts you would use a brim as was suggested. If you are using Simplified 3D you do the in the additional tab, under skirt, use 1 layer, 0 offset and multiple outline.. start with 5 and see how that w...

Re: Z axis problem. Is this a problem with the motor or the driver?

cold solder joints would be where I would start as well as examination of any and all visible traces with a loop, looking for cracks.
Good luck!

Re: Nylon

Thanks, now I have to sell the stuff I have then. Sorry, I was not saying to Use Esun, I meant to say "I use Esun" I print at 245 and you must dry the spool prior to each use for best results. I run mine in my food dehydrator on 165F for 8-10 hours prior to use and store it in vacuum bags with a la...

Re: Flexible Magnetic Print System for Maker Gear

But is it as flat or flatter than glass?? What is the life expectancy of the surface? Tape works great but is a pain to keep replacing. If the surface thickness is as consistent as the stock plate I would be interested in trying it. I have very little issue with bed adhesion with the Polymide tape b...

Re: Makergear M2 stops extruding after many hours midprint

Looks way too tight.. did you read that thread where the notches should be 10 to 15% deep? If tension is too tight it can deform the filament and cause it to jam in the housing.. a BIG change from too loose to too tight is less than 3/4 of a turn. But for $25 I would order a new drive from Maker Gre...

Re: Makergear M2 stops extruding after many hours midprint

any of the above.. warn gears in the planetary set, tension not set correctly, super inconstant filament diameter.. all of which have been mentioned.. did you measure the diameter of the filament with a digital micrometer when it stops working? Have you followed the instructions for setting the tens...

Re: Makergear M2 stops extruding after many hours midprint

yes, check the planetary gear set inside.. Remove the 4 screws and there are more gears inside.. Here's a thread with pictures.. slightly different motor or maybe they just have aftermarket heat sinks stuck on, but guts look the same http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2544&start=10&hilit...
