All good points. What thickness aluminum plate? I see Online Metals carries, something like $51 (plus shipping) for .250 thick by 12x12 inches.

Go to eBay and do a Search for Makergear M2, there is a company in Israel making what you are proposing.

I would think aluminum would scratch and mar a lot easier than glass. I have access, maybe to stainless steel plate has anyone used that instead of glass or aluminum?

I wonder why its not posted on the Makergear website? I am assuming its got the SD card reader in the side, same as my Taz 5. I am looking forward to getting my new M2 and I think the TAZ is going to a good home.

I just ordered today a new M2 with the LCD screen, I could not find a picture anyplace of what it looks like with the screen. Does anyone here have a picture to show me of what I just purchased?

When I got my first laser - engraving machine it was metric, including the software. So Corel Draw X6 needed to be metric and on and on. Needless to say my 3D printer is metric, so I finally gave up and bought a metric tape measure.... from McMaster Carr.

Go into prefrences or options and make sure the 3d transform gizmo box is checked. Now you will get the rotation and move tools in all 3 axis. Choose the tool you want from the toolbar on the right. S3d also will set any surface you want on the build platform. You can choose a face and align to bui...

Well I have my Taz 5, 4 months old listed for $1800 shipped, that's about a $490 savings over new.... and no takers and its listed over on the TAZ Forum no less.
