Re: Enclosure or not
If you search around on this forum, there are lots of people who have done enclosures. The "repurposed Ikea" enclosure seems to be the most popular. But specifically for your points: (1) The difference between a "cold" area of the house and a warm one is negligible compared to the difference between...

Re: i have a same question so i copy this topic again
Can't say for sure without looking at it and sticking a voltmeter on it, but especially if you are talking about the two 12V fans (electronics board enclosure and extruder motor fan), they're wired in series, and any problem with either fan motor can cause them to go into oscillations like you're de...

Re: Rambo Price Difference?
I noticed that the places selling for $170 to $180 are including a package of endstops, and most of them (e.g., matterhackers or through amazon) don't have an option for the board only without extra parts. Only the web page you linked to has the board-only option at $20 cheaper. As far as I can tell...

Re: Rambo Price Difference?
Seems like a bargain. Where are you seeing it for $150? I checked various places and I could only find it selling for $170 to $185. I expect MakerGear was just going with the flow. If there has been a price break, everyone will eventually follow. The MakerGear machines are open hardware (hooray for ...

M3 Reviewed in Make Magazine
The MakerGear M3 got a nice writeup in this month's issue of Make Magazine. Unfortunately, they graded all of the printers solely on performance metrics on various torture test prints, which is kind of beside the point because apart from a few things like a stable frame and gantry, it's mostly just ...

Re: M3 Ethernet Connection Options
Also you might consider a Wi-Fi range extender. As I mentioned, I have a Raspberry Pi and while it does support Wi-Fi it really has trouble reaching from the basement to the router on the 1st floor, even though there's not a whole lot in between them except the floor. So your problem could be what I...

Re: M3 Ethernet Connection Options
Direct point-to-point ethernet is a bit harder to set up, but it's doable. I haven't tried it myself because the only laptop I have doesn't have an ethernet port. The appropriate instructions are probably something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96Z1_6rX5qU The idea is that your laptop i...

Re: MAKERGEAR M3-ID reviews
Over time that stuff will lose its stick and need to be replaced. This also results in a less-than-flat build surface. Ends up being a bit of an acetone party to get things cleaned off for a fresh sheet. Is this maybe related to the amount of temperature cycling, or have I just not used it that muc...

Re: M3 Ethernet Connection Options
Generally speaking, ethernet is far better than Wi-Fi and much easier to set up, although it works best if you have your entire home wired up in Cat-5e cable. If you have a router with multiple ethernet ports (my Verizon router was like that), you can wire a cable directly between your printer and t...
