Re: E3Dv6 Temps in Simplify3D

I'm hoping jimc will respond, because he has one and I don't. But I seem to recall that the E3D comes with a thermistor with a different resistance curve than the ones that come with the M2. Requires a tweak to the firmware. Check the E3D online pages, and page two of this thread: http://forum.maker...

Re: hat bed does not work

sonra, How are you with a multimeter (volt/ohmmeter)? If you're pretty handy with it, you can check all sorts of stuff. Need to know a bit about your machine first, though: 1. Does your M2 have one power supply (24 volts), or two "large computer bricks" (one will be 12 volts, for the bed heater, and...

Re: Retraction

For the benefit of those who don't want to go dig through the S3D docs: Retraction distance is how far the filament is pulled back from the nozzle before making a rapid (non-extruding) X/Y move, like to a different part or different area of the part. This is a move of the filament extruder "axis". N...

Re: Windows 10

OpenSCAD and S3D run great on Linux Mint. Have to use Windoze for work, but LM17 just rocks for 3D printing at home. Plus I have VMWare workstation on my Mint machine for those times I just HAVE to run Windoze. With Mint taking up only about half a G of RAM, I can run virtual machines on my E6500 la...

Re: Call for sample prints

Vandal968, Glad you like the fan bracket. The files are there for anyone who wants to open it up and modify it in OpenSCAD -- perhaps reducing the depth of the shelf if you don't plan on putting LEDs underneath. (But having LEDs on it is just so useful for examining that critical first layer as it g...

Re: New new to this. They haven't even shipped my M2 yet.

Man, this thing is AWESOME!!! Even if my prints look like someone P'd on a B. Anyone want to go to work for me and then watch my son so I can put eighty hours a week into this? Mark, are those metric hours or imperial hours? ;) If you want an appreciation for metric, put together the M2 as a kit. A...

Re: Warm Up Program

... I currently running Dale's ending cool down script, and this moves the x full travel. I could just edit it so the y moves too and it would take care of this. Havent done anything yet... Alloy, Glad you've found the scripts useful. I tried to comment them so each line's function would be underst...

If the wire fan guards don't 100% prevent sticking the M3 hex driver into the fan blades, they do me no good whatsoever!

Re: Smoothie M2

Looks like some kind of round-off behavior. The (modeled) piece's walls are around 0.4mm thick. S3D used to slice this as a single filament thickness. Now the whole thing just vanishes unless I set the extrusion width to 0.39 or less. . . It won't slice it at an extrusion width of 0.4. In binary fl...

Re: esun petg

I'm no expert in topology, but I believe for a map of vertices and edges to be able to be walked without retracing your steps, it can have no more than two vertices with an odd number of edges meeting there. If there are two, one of them has to be the start point and the other has to be the stop poi...
