Re: storing PLA

It seemed reasonable to me, so I started storing my PLA in vacuum bags with a couple silica gel packets in each. (The bags come with a small hand pump. Only thing I don't like about them is the size .. I couldn't find anything similar that was smaller, so I just stick a couple rolls in each medium-s...

Re: M3 Wi-Fi Connection Problem

To add a bit to what Steve says, you can also use a small utility, Pi Finder , to locate (or confirm) Pi-based devices deployed on your network. Once found, it's pretty straightforward to connect directly using the IP, (though I've not had problems using octopi.local to connect to Octoprint) .. I'd ...

Re: Lossing Bed Level

I'm getting a little confused here trying to follow this discussion. (Maybe it's just me .. it usually is)! You refer to the 'bed', and re-leveling after changing it .. but are you actually talking about the glass plate that sits on top of the actual heated bed? (It would seem this is the case based...

Re: Hatchbox PETG - Looking Good!

Thanks .. will do some experimenting. (I do realize from the discussion between @Ed and others on an alternate thread that there a few 'knobs to turn' - trace width/height as well as print speed, etc. - to accommodate the increased flow volume associated with the larger nozzle. I'll jump over there ...

Re: Hatchbox PETG - Looking Good!

You know, I've been wondering how to speed up some larger parts I've been working with, and well, sometimes just overlook the obvious .. I'm going to get going on ordering some 0.5mm nozzles prompted by the discussion here. It's a bit of a tangential topic, but what's the largest layer thickness you...

Re: Cleaning filament

I've not had any issues running the eSun cleaning filament since picking up a spool a couple months back. I use it routinely when switching colors, or PLA <--> PETG. Seems to work well, and I've not observed the problems you note.

Re: Hatchbox PETG - Looking Good!

I've had no issues with smaller parts running Hatchbox (black) PETG using the stock 0.35mm nozzle right on the polyimide (85c). For larger parts I've added a layer or two (typically just one) of Aqua Net which has helped noticeably with adhesion (usually at the perimeter).

Re: Pronterface vs Simplify 3D?

S3D has a Machine Control Panel (Tools > Machine Control Panel > Jog Controls) that will allow you to control the extruder directly (extrude/retract) as well as all other motors. No other package is needed.

Re: Printer is printing off bed

(Rather than creating a new thread, this issue is similar one to I'm recently experiencing, so I thought I would follow on here). I too have used my (Rev E) machine for a couple of months now without issue. Over the past few weeks however, I note that the machine will on occasion begin to prime the ...

Re: Y-axis rattle

Ok, it's looking like perhaps a false alarm. As I was setting up a print to try to capture the rattle, I noted that the screw for one of the rear bed corners was quite loose. (I'm not sure how many times I've checked over the various extruder and bed fasteners, and simply missed this .. quite embarr...
